Pretty sure you don't know many American Jews. Always handy to have someone else to blame instead of yourself though, eh?

Politically they [american and other Jews] were getting anything and everything they wanted regarding to american ME policy and many other aspects of american policies.
American governments were (and still are) their puppets in this respect.
But emerging most equal groups have other priorities.
On the top of it homeless black transsexual boys have suffered in the past more abuse and humiliation than Jews during holocaust (or so they believe).
You know this awful guy called Jefferson who imprisoned all of them on cotton and sugar cane plantations...
Think Ms Omar - possible POTUS 2-4 elections from now on.

Change? That's what cultures do, for a lot of reasons.

That's true. Some reasons are coming from within, some pressures are external.
The most extreme is cultural change forced by conquest. Think of the old indians. Do you think they felt happy, experiencing a cultural change towards european? I believe not.

and such schemes generally don't turn out well in the long run.

That's exactly my point. I don't think the forced and engineered multi-culti that's shoved down the throats of europeans is going to end well. I'm glad we agree.

Yeah, it's so awful. A religious group that believes in a study hard, work hard, and become prosperous ethic. And often succeeds via dint of hard work.

Yeah, just as "evil" as those horrific Amish, Mennonites, not behaving like typical Americans and daring to often become relatively successful financially, due to hard work and thrift.

Somehow, I find that FAR less threatening than, say, gangbangers, organized crime, and even the huge "something for nothing" crowd, etc.

All the hate on specific groups because they belong to that group is just ridiculous. I've known a fair number of jews over the course of my life. And in more recent years, I've known a fair number of Arabs, via common interests or through being a customer of their business and chatting with them.

Somehow, I just don't see such people being society's problems. :?

Exactly what part of the word "illegal" do you not understand?
standard definition:
contrary to or forbidden by law, especially criminal law.

So again, I ask you, what is the difference between legal and illegal mass immigration?
The result is the same.

There is a reason for laws, if you choose to ignore them then there is probably still room in the prison system for you.

There's many a law that have outlived their reason.
Did you know that it is required by LAW to bring a gun into church service in Main?
That's to defend against a possible indian attack.

You have to be patient. You might think differently once you're a clear minority in their midst.
As an educational experience I suggest an extended stay in some of european cities arab neighborhoods.
You might find it enlightening.

Can we try to drift this thread somewhere back toward the California blackouts.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/qz.com/172 ... ryone/amp/

We’re entering a climate era when there are no total solutions. There are only tradeoffs. Disaster relief is becoming less about rebuilding or fixing infrastructure, and more a way to buy time or retreat from the hardest-hit areas. In low-lying and fire-prone areas, communities are already beginning to abandon their homes, from Alaska to Louisiana. As the cost of defense and rebuilding after climate-driven disasters becomes too costly, exceeding the ability of even insurers and governments to absorb, this will become the new normal.

Assumes all Jews want the same things. Prejudiced at the least; silly to the point of being stupid (or bigoted,, take your pick) in reality. As I said, it's very clear you don't know many Jews, especially in America, or black transsexuals for that matter.

Regarding ME objections their [Jewish] goals are coherrent, eg antagonize US with most if not all of neighbors of Israel and it works.
I know few american Jews, maybe not many, but still and they have comparable vievs on these matters.
ME war advocates.
Regarding transsexuals - who knows maybe you are one of these?
And if not you may always undergo sex reassignement surgery to show how leftie (and retarded) you are.

I read that PGE said they had 100 incidents during the wind storm. Not surprising, tree trimming costs money and doesn't add to the bottom line.

Someone maybe mentioned how much this has to do with deregulation. Back in the 90s Enron along with PGE & SCE were able to bust up the CA electricity markets. Sounds strange to say that monopoly shareholders wanted competition, but the tradeoff was, obviously, less regulation. Another instance of "maximizing shareholder value" by, in this case, not doing right of way clearance. Hey, greed is good right? (See my Sig)

To me this is the great peril of our time. The socialism memes from troll farms are fog machines to cover privatization / deregulation al la USSR. Once the assets are free from government control the looting begins. Maximizing shareholder value while Rome burns
.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Arent' there any conditions that the utility must achieve?
Like, withstand 100mph wind with outage of less than 0.1%.
Or service restore within 7 days of 90% of all outages.

You know, something along those lines. It's hard for me to believe that this is complete wild west and the utility can do whatever they want with whatever quality of service they choose.

Apparently not, that's the beauty of the free market, they are free to do and charge and lay costs off on society.

The "market" part is non functional when there is only one path to your house.

Exactly the same as healthcare and drugs, the "market" does not function when you are on a stretcher and your heart muscle is dying.

Once upon a time US society realized such obvious truths, but we've been privatized. We blinked and what were once regulated monopolies have become protected monopolies dedicated to "shareholder value"

Actually it’s the D party in California that has “blinked” at PG & E.

PG & E operates only in California. California is a one party state. Its been controlled by Ds for decades. The Ds have utterly failed to regulate PG & E properly, just as they have failed to take effective action in response to the mega drought and the massive tree kill offs in the mountains and the heat waves and climate change and the massive forest fires.

When you’ve got two active parties then there is some accountabiity, because each party will criticize and battle with the other. But in a one-party state like Calaifornia, the party tends to get captured by the mega-corporations like PG & E and the wealthy like the Hollywood liberal elite, and the single party in control of everything becomes hobbled in trying to deal with problems because it is controlled by the corporations and the elites.

Cheers!

But but but ... how can this possibly be? The dems constantly assure us that it is only the GOP that kowtows to corporations and business interests in general. That the dems are "the party of the little guy", etc? 8O

Gasp. Could it be that neither side is what it pretends and both sides lie a LOT, to try and "buy" votes? (I'm sure the dems will try to blame this on the GOP, as per usual. Pointing at Arnold, no doubt?)

And then people think it's "weird" when I refuse to be a blind follower of either party, and instead look at issues one at a time, based on what I perceive to be their merits, or not. :!:

(I think perhaps the blind followers are a bit daft, but since I'm clearly in the minority, I'll just continue to munch popcorn and try to enjoy the show -- and especially the extremes on both sides who buy the ideology of their side -- hook, line, and sinker, despite all the evidence they should not.)

They don't shut down power lines for a pure fad of doing so but out of absolute need, to avoid even worse outcomes.

Soviet deregulation was out of necessity.
Working systems are not just liquidating themselves because few bureaucrats fancy it.
There is no pressure to steal either because in commie countries very narrow elites actually own entrire nations (like is still the case with DPRK). You dont steal something what is already yours.
Before deregulation happens system goes completely dysfunctional and deregulatory acts in such circumstances are an example of efforts of elites to actually survive.
Power blackouts in Poland were very common in later stages of socialism.
It is entirely normal and expected that California is following similar path.
The more socialism one have the more likely are shorages of anything (including electricity, medicines, food or even hamsters)

so no rebuttal of my points, just the typical Kalifornia talking points and baiting.

So how many of you think limiting or eliminating lobbying and campaign contributions then are a good idea?

Or should we simply sell it all off and let "the market" decide like it's done here?
