Yeah, I just got 25 or so, but I haven't had the problem as long as you seem to have.

OK got back from my 5 day weekend and realized I have not gotten any emails since 11/21/2007 at 1:39 AM, and it was the only one for that day.

I really had given up hope for this function, but as of 7:25 AM EDT 01 April 2008 it has started sending me email updates!

Did you guys upgrade the server when we weren't looking?

Email links no longer working

Unread postby Micki » Sun 08 Feb 2009, 23:29:28

All the emails I received before upgrade for subscribed posts result in error message "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Is this a temporary problem that is going to be fixed?
Do old subscriptions still work or do I need to search thorugh all the old threads again to find the ones I was subscribing to?

It's different now, and you may have to resubscribe.

go to the User Control Panel
http://www.peakoil.com/forums/ucp.php

and click manage subscriptions...

however, the URLs will be fixed (and improved eventually)

Sounds like you guys running the upgrade had a looooooooooooooong weekend.

Hope all is well with the wives/husbands.

Thanks for your efforts.

Email - "You are receiving this notification because

Unread postby TheDude » Wed 25 Mar 2009, 15:36:39

you are watching the topic, "PAIN" at "Peakoil.com"." No, I'm not. And stop sending me these friggin' emails, server, or I'll teach you about "PAIN!"

This has been a problem for about a year, I merely glance at a thread and the site decides I'm watching it and inundates me with these email notifications. I've looked and looked at the user control panel for a way to turn it off, any suggestions? Maybe saying No to "Users can contact me by e-mail" or "Administrators can e-mail me information"? But I shouldn't have to do something that drastic. UPDATE: Tried that, didn't help.

On the left-hand Menu under the section labeled Members, try the link named User Panel. In the page that comes up there should be a box on the left labeled Options. Look there in the Overview sub-category for a link named Manage Subscriptions.

I now have the opposite problem, none of the threads I am following have sent me an update notice or link since about 5:30 PM EDT Wednesday March 25, 2009.

You might try re-subscribing to any threads you're interested in watching Tanada:

The site's been down for several hours each of the last couple days due to technical issues, so some things might have gotten reset.

Might want to check first in your User Panel where I directed Dude to above, remove any watched threads that may be showing there, then re-subscribe.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

All 13 pages of watched threads is gonna take a while to exit and resubscribe, and the stuff I posted to yestedrday didn't unpdate overnight either. I will try it for one page worth as a test, but my hopes are not high, this has happenned before several times with the old software as well.

Re: Email notification delayed

Sadly this issue has arisen once again. I routinely keep the first message I get each calendar day just so I know I got at least one thread follow up email on any particular date. From July 26, 2008 until March 25, 2009 I received one or more email update notices on every single date, even those when the board was down for several hours at a time. Since the board went down last Wednesday I have received zero emais form the board software. I have gone through dozens of threads and unsubscribed/resubscribed without effect and new threads I have posted to and/or subscribed too since the board came back up for me Friday also do not send me notifications.

Yes I can work around it by looking at posts since last visit and/or posts last 24 hours and opening the threads but going directly to the new post is very convenient when the email notifications are working.

Please fix. Or at least give me an ETA on the fix.

*sigh*

Tanada...

I thought this had been made clear already, but apparently I'm mistaken...

The site is currently in an ongoing process of being upgraded, something which takes time --several weeks most likely-- so you will probably continue to experience random performance glitches and periods of site inaccessibility until that process is complete.

Patience people, please... [smilie=BangHead.gif]

The squeeky wheel gets the grease, and if you don't know its broke you won't find a way to fix it now will you?

I have not tried to be a pain to anyone during all these long years on PO.com, however when I find a software problem I do my civic duty and let TPTB PO.com style know about it.

Peakoil.com e-mail problems

Unread postby Leanan » Tue 14 Apr 2009, 14:49:19

Is anyone else having trouble with their @peakoil.com e-mail addresses? I have not received mail at mine for days. My other G-mail accounts are working fine.

No one is able to e-mail me at my peakoil.com address, and my Yahoogroups e-mail isn't getting through, either. I tried a few test messages, and while there were no error messages, the e-mails never actually arrived, either.

No spam, no nothing. I can log in fine, and read my old messages, but can't receive new messages.

Seems to be working now. I suddenly started getting mail an hour or so ago.

Thanks!

Is that problem related to THIS problem? I don;t want to be too much of a squeeky wheel but its been over two weeks and no improvement in email notification for the threads I like to follow.
