Are you the same people who are running the Global Petroleum Club

Will my login from here work over there too?

 OK, assuming this isn't a troll ...

The Global Petroleum Club is
an interactive forum for people who make decisions in the oil, gas and power sectors.

For the most part, we're an interactive forum for people who complain about how badly those people are screwing things up. :P

So you don't use any fuel at all? Interesting.
I'm not a troll. I found this site and thought it was petroleum related, as there has been a lot of talk about peak oil.

I see that it's a bit doomsday-ish and not that oil related in many threads.

I don't know what a troll could possibly do here , since I have seen political opinions of both stripes proudly displayed and experts weighing in on several topics.

I am not about to post profanity or hack any forums... :-/

Complaining is so negative. Maybe this isn't for me...

Very well. My apologies for suggesting that possibility, then.

oil_girl wrote:I see that it's a bit doomsday-ish
Certainly one can understand that, though, given that most of the people who post here recognize that our economy is extensively petroleum based and that we have probably consumed more than half of the petroleum that is available.

oil_girl wrote:and not that oil related in many threads.
Some threads are ... some threads aren't. There are several years worth of threads at this site, covering quite a variety of topics.

And yet we've certainly had our share of trolls. :-x

Glad to hear it. :)

Yes, complaining is negative. But sometimes it makes people feel better about a situation over which they have no control. Maybe you'll be able to make us all feel better. I know your sunny looking avatar certainly makes me happier just looking at it. :-D

Is this Global Petroleum Club something that might be helpful towards understanding PO? Anyone?

I think this site has taken on a more doomerish tone for two reasons:

1. It really does seem like we are near an important peak in conventional oil production

2. We have discussed the state of the oil industry so much, we want to move on to what to do next.

BTW - Welcome newcomers.

"oil girl" is most likely a middle aged balding fat man.

"oil girl" most likely looks like this:

Oh jesus christ people. You have no idea what she looks like or who she is. I just scanned over her topics and she's done nothing wrong whatsoever. Just a different set of opinions from most of us. Be nice.

I don't know, her comment here really set off a lot of idiot alarm bells. Kind of like your pandering post, emailking. Why don't you just ask her to marry you and get it over with? You two can pick out colors for your apartment and plan your retirement while the rest of us will relax happily spared your obnoxious chivalry.
