Iraq secures $2.7 billion US loan from for military equipment

Iraq secured a $2.7 billion loan from the United States on Wednesday to fund ammunition and maintenance of fighter jets, tanks and other military equipment for use in the war against Islamic State.

Baghdad will have eight and a half years, including a one-year grace period, to repay the loan, which carries a 6.45 percent interest rate, a U.S. embassy statement said.

The deal will help Iraq service its F-16 fighter jets, M1A1 tanks, armored vehicles and attack helicopters as well as maintain navy ships and systems to protect the Umm Qasr port and southern oil platforms, the embassy added.

Declining global oil prices and the costs of fighting Islamic State militants who seized a third of Iraq’s territory in 2014 have hit government revenues, which rely almost completely on oil exports.

Iraq received its first batch of F-16s in 2015 as a part of a $65 million deal with Lockheed Martin Corp.

The uS mil-industrial complex at work. Why limit yourself to selling weapons to only one side of the conflict. Bonus points, if you created, fund, direct, and media-manage the ‘enemy'(ISIS)in the first place. Or, we could put it another way, and say, If the USlamic state didn’t exist, they would have had to invent it. Oh, wait, that’s exactly what the uS, mossad, and pals did.

So, now, the uS saddles whats left of Iraq with billions in war-loans after utterly destroying the country in the first place, and on false pretexts too. And @ 6.45% to less. I guess ZIRP does not apply in this case.

No wonder people in that part of the world often refer to the Jewnited Snakes of amerika as, the ‘Great Satan’, or use similar terms. Im not superstitious, but I’ve come to appreciate why the ameri-jews are referred to that way.

    War really is a racket….

Anonymous, American weapons sales to both sides started before WW1 and continues to this day. War is profitable. Very profitable. Until the nukes fly…

” Or, we could put it another way, and say, If the USlamic state didn’t exist, they would have had to invent it. Oh, wait, that’s exactly what the uS, mossad, and pals did.”

You can’t handle the truth. Much easier to buy into the anti-Semitic lie that lines up with your desires than accept the fact that ISIS is the true face of Islam — coming soon to your neighborhood. They read, understand, and believe the Koran. It tells them to kill you or place you in their servitude…the equivalent of a camel. All in the name of their moon god…who promises eternal sexual satisfaction if you murder and die for him.

Wise up, submit, or perish…the choice is yours.

“Wise up, submit, or perish…the choice is yours.”

Exactly. Idiots such as yourself are not worthy of procreation. Natural selection at it’s finest.

War is only profitable if you get paid. Raytheon and all the manufacturers are getting paid but USA isn’t. USA is footing the bill on a loan to Iraq that will never be repaid. The manufacturers are profiting not the USA. The USA is getting ripped off, as usual.

And let us not forget the shareholders of these types of companies.

They are receiving dividends that are nothing short of blood money.

“Raytheon and all the manufacturers are getting paid but USA isn’t”

Perhaps it’s time for the American public to wise up. Stop voting for the democrats or the republicans. Two sides of the same corrupt establishment.

No surprise here, fellas. The manufacturing base that is left here in United States are the weapons industry…
What else can we sell overseas besides recycle cardboard, scrap metal and movies and financial paper….
Besides, this keeps the USA top dog in the world today…nobody, but no one will dare mess with Uncle Sam.

There is no money to repair the schools, museums, water works, electrical grid, libraries and everything else the amerikans (intentionally) smashed during both gulf ‘wars’. But there is always a few billion lying around to fund deadly, but still poorly made, uS weapons to fight a…..’force’, the uS and its puppets created as a pretext to remain in the region indefinitely.

Racket is too kind a word I thinks…

I see that the USA is still helping out other countries as usual. I am certain that this new loan is going to do wonders for the Iraqui people just like everything else the USA has done for them in the past. If it weren’t for the Americans’ help the Iraquis would still be living under horrible conditions under that evil Sadam. I hope Iraquis are greatful for everything the USA has done for them. LOL!

Drop your cutting edge weapons and leave them to ISIS once, shame on you, do it twice….We gonna sell them the good depleted uranium shit? or is that only for our use and our own soldiers exposure? Western foreign policy has done such wonders for the birthplace of civilization.

So nice we can help our our defense industries.  Never mind that the utterly incompetent and corrupt Iraqi Sand Negroes will never pay that $2.7 x 10^12 back, ever.  The Demonic Party and their Repub toadies will invent some new diversion (probably larded with gibberish about “racists”) to make sure the sheep will never blame them.  But then, a people is governed by the rulers it deserves, not by those it says it wants.

Thee “Never mind that the utterly incompetent and corrupt Iraqi Sand Negroes will never pay that $2.7 x 10^12 back, ever.” This is not a out getting the loan paid back. This is about collecting taxes from the 99% and giving them to the 1%. The same thing that has been going on in the USA for decades now. Paying taxes is for suckers. The one percenters basically don’t pay taxes, and even when they do they get them back with interest, dividends, profits, and rents. It is a brave new world! LOL!
