Population: Threat to the economy

Population: Threat to the economy thumbnail
As of Thursday, April 13, 2017, India’s population, based on the latest United Nations estimates, was 1,339,040,095, only some 47 million more than China’s total population on that day. The UN estimate (Worldometers) records India’s population as 17.86 per cent of the total world population as against China’s 18.47 per cent. In 2016, India’s population grew by 1.20 per cent, compared to China’s 0.54 per cent despite the latter’s lately liberalised two-child-per-family population policy. Demographers have forecast that India may overtake China’s population as early as in 2022, that is five years from now.
Currently, China ranks No.1 in the list of countries (and dependencies) by population. India is No. 2. At the time of India’s Independence in 1947, the country’s population was only around 330 million. It went up to 520 million in 1968, said a report in an External Affairs Ministry publication, that year. Indira Gandhi was India’s Prime Minister, then. The population growth rate was always politically sensitive, and Mrs Gandhi avoided its official reference, until her younger son, Sanjay Gandhi, made it a part of his five-point programme during the national emergency period and started a vigorous birth-control campaign through ‘forced’ sterilisation that was said to be partly responsible for the Congress party’s crushing defeat in the post-emergency 1977 Lok Sabha election. Ever since, every government went for ‘self-control for birth control’ policy until BJP’s newly-elected Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced a few weeks ago a new rigorous-looking population control policy — first time by any state in this country — for Assam which has been witnessing a big population explosion due to high birth rate as well as constant illegal immigration from bordering Bangladesh.
The population growth alone would not have been a major concern for India if it did not go apace with the growth of poverty, lack of nutrition and social security. Despite its massive middle-class population at around 300-350 million today, India is home to the world’s largest number of poor, nearing some 400 million, or more than the country’s total population at the time of Independence. India’s high GDP growth rate has created a large middle-class. However, the actual number of its poor, famished, undernourished, underpaid, part-time employed and jobless has also been going up, instead of declining. For its geographical size, India is already the world’s most populous country. For instance, the population density in India is 452 per Sq. Km. The country’s total land area is 2,972,892 Km2, less than a third of China’s total land area of 9,390,784 Km2. The population density in China is 148 per Sq. Km. One may say that India still has a manageable urban population rate of 32.8 per cent compared to China’s 59.1 per cent. But, India’s urban population rate is unlikely to remain at the current level as more and more rural poor, especially the youth, are moving towards urban fringes looking for jobs as agriculture is unable to feed the increasing number of rural population. The median age in India is 26.9 years compared to China’s 37.3 years although the lower median age may not always be to the advantage of a country offering fewer job opportunities in the absence of enough technically educated and skilled workforce. India’s demographics are mind-boggling. The country will have 900 million people of working age by 2020. The demographic boom shouldering a massive young population aspiring for jobs and manageable livelihood could make or break India. In dollar terms, India’s GDP ranks the ninth in the world, below many smaller countries, whereas China ranks the second, after the USA. India has a long way to go to raise its GDP, find millions of new life-supporting jobs for the youth and help its large population of debt-ridden marginal farmers by making their farming viable. The massive population surge in the country’s both urban and rural areas, alongside the growth of the actual number of the poor, pose the biggest challenge to its social and economic development. Unfortunately, India’s steady annual GDP growth has not percolated down beyond a level. That explains why India’s ranking on the global Human Development Index (HDI) is rising so slowly. The annual edition of the Global Human Development report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) shows through India’s slow pace progress. From 2009 to 2014, the country moved only six positions up in the HDI ranking. India stands well below the average score of 0.630 for countries in the medium human development group.
At its 131st place in the 2016 Index, India stood lower than countries like Namibia, Guatemala, Tajikistan, and even Iraq. China ranked 90th. Although it may not speak too well for China, the world’s second-largest economy, but the country, with its population under control, is poised to do better in the coming years as its economy is still largely industry and manufacturing based. Conversely, India seems to be moving away from industry-cum-manufacturing based growth that encourages and enlarges quality of employment and offers better job opportunities.
The country is becoming increasingly dependent on foreign investment, trade, and services. It is fast losing control over the economic growth direction and dimension. India, at its current level of economic growth, is leaning heavily on the less reliable services sector, import distribution, etc, offering mostly low quality, part-time employment as more and more young people are entering the restricted job market. It is rather scary to think that India of 2022 and beyond is in control of neither its population nor its economic growth agenda.

India’s population is not just a threat to its Economy but to the survival of every one of its inhabitants

Cut oof India’s foreign work force and it would collapse even faster. If Trump shuts off the flow of Indian Green Cards worker into the U$ and sends all of them back to India, it would be a good thing for both countries. Let them start to eat the cows roaming in their streets.

Don’t worry The Horseman will be in India very soon, then the overpopulation in India will not be a problem. Just trust me, i know about these things.

It isn’t the population that kills you – its the population density. India is getting up near Rwanda now. Machetes will be involved in the solution, is my bet.

Of course Mother Teresa would say moar (sic) for the Church so breed breed breed. She also said suffering is a gift from God. WOW!

Hitchens said he opposed MT. He said the solution to poverty is to empower women and to remove them from compulsory livestock version of reproduction.

Think about it. Teach a woman how to feed herself and she wouldn’t poop out so many kids. Fewer kids, fewer people, living standard improves.

Re-read that first sentence in the article; it contradicts sentences 2, 4, and 5 and is clearly supposed to say “47 million fewer” rather than “more”. Sloppy editing aside, it paints a pretty bleak picture of India’s future.

    Returning to the land…

“Some of us have a Plan B in case Plan A doesn’t work out,…”

I’m number 3: “Those who tire of the stresses of maintaining Plan A and who long for a less stressful, less complex, cheaper and more fulfilling way of living.”

As I have been saying: “In China, many of the urban workers laid off in slow periods return to their villages, where there is a source of food (farms) and a roof over their head (the family home).”

And… “Many immigrants from south of the border have invested their earnings in building new homes in their villages of origin. When the economy north of the Rio Grande falters, they can return to the home they built when their incomes were high.”

Ditto for the OFWs who send home money to buy land and homes in the Ps.

Where will the ~63% of Americans who live in thecities go?

    Answer: Nowhere.

To return to the agricultural past, as some thinkers about the beginning of the twentieth century dreamed of doing, was not a practicable solution. It conflicted with the tendency towards mechanization which had become quasi-instinctive throughout almost the whole world, and moreover, any country which remained industrially backward was helpless in a military sense and was bound to be dominated, directly or indirectly, by its more advanced rivals.

AFDF, you only fail if you don’t try. Most succeed. Maybe not in Western countries but in the Asian East, living off the land is normal for most here. You don’t need what Westerners call ‘necessities’. Electric, tech, debt. Necessities are: food, water, shelter and some way to cover yourself. If that takes all the hours from sun up to sun set, so be it.

We have started our farm here on the Pacific side of the Philippines and are working to make it self sustaining. It’s looking good. Fruit and nut trees are 4-5 years old. Pineapple, banana, taro, yams, etc. are the normal crops. The free range chickens are multiplying. Permaculture is our method.

BTW: I would NEVER try to tell someone what they should do. I would advise them and then let them make their own decision. I am not egocentric or a know-it-all. I made my decision based on MY experience and intelligence and, after 9 years, do not regret it. I look forward to the challenges ahead. They will be so much easier than the 9-5 rat race most call ‘normal’ and which I escaped from after 45 years of labor for ‘the man’.

  14. Davy on Tue, 18th Apr 2017 4:22 am

This idealistic young college grad back in 1985 was sold on globalism and sustainable development. Climate change and limits to modernism were a distant worry then. Today I feel with years of daily in-depth study it is too late. A die down is the only way forward. This will be a process and it could be quick or longer term but it is necessary and inevitable. What we can do and won’t is acknowledge this and construct a social narrative of hospices and lifeboats. This social narrative would simply be about embracing an end to affluence and accommodate increasing death from all sources. It would be about downsizing modernism for increase sustainability and resilience on a gradient of collapse.

Fake greens and humanists want to have cake and eat it. That is what humans will buy into. Money for nothing and tricks for free. The greed and psychopathy built into market based capitalism and hijacked liberal democracy is about individual growth within nationalistic success. Academia and scientist are sold out to fake social narrative of manifest destiny. They may acknowledge the science until it gets to the part of the collapse process then for reasons of relevance they start talking a continuation of the status quo by other means.

This is about a Ponzi civilization reaching the point where a Ponzi fails. When you no longer are sustainable you are a Ponzi. It is about a house of cards of building arrangements with no future and a built out arrangement with no future. It is about a failed social narrative divorced from ecological reality. It is most of all about an evolutionary dead end species because of a large brain uncheck by wisdom to say no. Fantasy and dreams rule and they have destroyed us.

Techno optimism and development are by nature limited and fully governed by diminishing returns. At some point we over develop and become unnaturally techno. At some point we lose our human nature. At some point we fill all available spaces with humans naturally motivated to survive and live comfortable lives. This is self-organizing and adaptive meaning it can no longer be managed through a status quo narrative. It can only be managed by a revolutionary change to our underlying human story but life has become too complex and mechanized for this type of change.

We are getting very close to a threshold. It is a zone of inflection where reality shifts. It is a place where minimums are reached that bring down complex civilizations. We can argue overpopulation and the flip side that is a population in excessive affluence. Both arguments are part of the same denial of what science is telling us. We are not in harmony with nature and with too many people and many living beyond proper means. We are now in a failing planetary ecosystem and climate.

In such a case the best that can be done is the individual can yield to this self-organizing and adaptive planetary tragedy. The individual can eke out a local that embraces the wisdom of life. This recommendation is not claiming an absolute spiritual reality of the right way. This recommendation is about finding a place and a wisdom that is in harmony with nature to allow meaning and truth to be discovered. Human civilizations do not need to reinvent spirituality and religion. What is needed is a proper way of life to allow meaning and wisdom where our individual spirituality can inhabit. This is about existentialism and its remolding.

There are limits to the individual and free will and these can be embraced not forced. The forcing will be from collapse of a planetary ecosystem and a failing civilization. The embracing is from the individual and from within. It is about collapsing in place and downsizing with dignity. It is about relative sacrifice within a status quo that is about growth and development. It is about leveraging the status quo to find an alternative reality. This is a paradox because you will be living one way to live another. It takes a very strong mental character and by no means is success assured. The success is found in the process not the result. It is about a pathway to embrace a way towards truth instead of a false reality of a way that is a proven failure. It is not that the status quo is not reality but that its ideal is false. The status quo is what it is. It is a human expression. It is who and what we are. It is clearly a failure and clearly needs to be checked by wisdom. Since wisdom is no longer possible at the civilization level it must be found by the individual and the local. It is no longer possible for civilization to adapt and change. It is a complex ecosystem and all niches filled. The niches that are still open are in your heart. Go there and find meaning.

This idealistic young college grad back in 1985 was sold on globalism and sustainable development.

Same preconditions for me. The big difference between Davy and me is that in my view it is not completely hopeless, at least not for the West, and that we should prepare for the possibility that total collapse is not going to happen. That is not “fake green” or “blind techno optimism”, it is attempting to save what can be saved.

My 1985 idealism, when I was involved in renewable energy aid projects for Africa, has completely gone. I no longer feel the “White Man’s Burden” of the 19th century as personified by notorious do-gooder Albert Schweitzer. For me the Third World, as effectively portrayed in the overburdened train in the picture above, is a giant threat for our (European) continued physical existence and needs to be fought, if necessary by military means. It is not Russia or China who are the enemy, but the Third World and most of all it is Washington-New York that is leading the globalist uprising of the Third World against European Civilization.

Before we can even begin to think about defending European Civilization, we first need to destroy the globalist left and its Anglosphere power base. And that struggle can be won by playing out the US left and right against each other and offer the US nationalist right a “European way out”:

Once the Washington-NYC NWO problem (“George Soros”) has been solved, Greater Europe and China can take the lead in tackling the immense climate and overpopulation problem. Means: renewable technology and fighting African overpopulation (forecast: 1 –> 4 billion between now and 2100) by Eurasian recolonization of Sub-Saharan Africa and raise standards of living there in return for a rigorous birth control program and resources. Skilled African-Americans can be hired by Eurasia to function as a new proxy African elite, to avoid too strong a Eurasian presence in Africa.

That should be the big picture, fueled by “optimism of the will”.

It is better than nothing or nihilism or fake despair, looking for an excuse to have to do nothing, “since it is all hopeless anyway”.

  16. Davy on Tue, 18th Apr 2017 5:29 am

“The big difference between Davy and me is that in my view it is not completely hopeless”
“Hopeless”, your words not mine. You did not read my comment and glossed right through the hope part into your fantasy of hope of a Western status quo by other means less the dirty nasty 3rd world part.

“We should prepare for the possibility that total collapse is not going to happen. That is not “fake green” or “blind techno optimism”, it is attempting to save what can be saved.”
If attempting to save the status quo is “save what can be saved” then you will lose what can be saved. We cannot maintain what is unsustainable and modernism “as-is” and all adapted alternatives is unsustainable. The science is clear on this to those who are honest.

“It is better than nothing or nihilism or fake despair, looking for an excuse to have to do nothing, “since it is all hopeless anyway”.
The quotes by great minds are replete with wisdom that discredits doing something just to be doing something. Sometimes “NO” must be part of the social narrative. Sometimes more of the same is worse than nothing at all. Sometimes the worst thing is more of the same attempting to get different results. A new wisdom must be embraced and can only be embraced at the local by the individual because at the global level of the status quo the view is we have to do more of the same and try to achieve different results because that is wht a techno optimistic civilization does…until it can’t.

The only problem with civilizing Africans is that (among other atavisms) they are genetically programmed to multiply like rabbits.  See J. Philippe Rushton’s Race, Evolution, and Behavior: A Life History Perspective (3rd Edition).  The Negro problem has been studied extensively by many experts, and the truthful ones all come to the same conclusion:  Afroids as a whole are incompatible with advanced civilization.  The real problem is not those primitives, however;  it is Whitey’s absurd guilt neurosis which makes him constantly try, despite constant failures, to make silk purses out of sows’ ears.

Nature will have to take care of the Darkie problem, since White religion (Christianity) is too ingrained in the West to face the issue realistically.  As Nietzsche once said (in Also sprach Zarathustra, chapter “Vom höheren Menschen”), “What the rabble once learned to believe without proofs, who, by using proofs, could overturn it in him?”  (Was der Pöbel ohne Gründe einst glauben lernte, wer könnte ihm durch Gründe das  — umwerfen?).

Why would there be so many souls trying to get to where everybody else is?

Kind of explains the growth in the human population.

It is funny hearing that areas like the Philippines will do just fine when they have a population density of around 337 per square kilometer, versus around 35 for the USA.
Density is key. If you have tillable area, people can always move from the cities.

  21. GregT on Tue, 18th Apr 2017 11:43 am

    “Density is key.”

There’s more to be taken into consideration than population density Hawk. Standards of living, consumption per capita, and growing seasons, to mention a few. Moving away from the cities is not exactly a simple task, and winters are not nearly as problematic in tropical climates.

Got news for you Theedrich, we’re ALL “genetically programmed to multiply like rabbits”. Seriously, if you were let loose at the Playboy Mansion for, say, a month (assuming no complications with wife/girlfriend/etc.), you telling me you’d behave differently than the supposedly “inferior” dark races? You’d be trying to teach those girls differential calculus? Gimme a break.

The main difference is that modern white Western people are culturally conditioned to suppress/control that impulse and/or sublimate those impulses it via monogamous marriage. Not so true of non-Christian and less Puritanical/Victorian societies.

We’re all (mostly) horny buggers programmed to multiply. Most (though perhaps not all) differences among “racial” outcomes can easily be explained by social conditioning, varying cultural values, attitudes toward family/academics/work, and, yes, racial stereotyping.

How many remember the “octomom”? For those unfamiliar, the octomom (Iraqi father and Lithuanian mother now divorced) received fertility treatments, taxpayer funded of course, so she could pop out a large number of children at a single birth and thus maximize her welfare payments. The octomom has as of this date given birth to 14 children and she is pregnant. She receives $489,000 a year in cash and services from the government. She drives a new Mercedes and hires nannies to care for the 14 children. The only good news is that she has been charged with three counts of welfare fraud and faces up to five years in prison.

” The number of wild animals living on Earth is set to fall by two-thirds by 2020, according to a new report, part of a mass extinction that is destroying the natural world upon which humanity depends.

The analysis, the most comprehensive to date, indicates that animal populations plummeted by 58% between 1970 and 2012, with losses on track to reach 67% by 2020. Researchers from WWF and the Zoological Society of London compiled the report from scientific data and found that the destruction of wild habitats, hunting and pollution were to blame.’

There is more than the human population to be concerned about.

  27. Theedrich on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 4:23 am

Most (though perhaps not all) differences among ‘racial’ outcomes can easily be explained by social conditioning…”  Obviously, Harm, you haven’t read any of the relevant literature on racial differences — clearly because you, like most others of your persuasion, do not want to.  It is simply a fact that, after the ancestors of other races had left Africa about 50 to 100 thousand years or so ago, the hominids who remained there have also remained adapted to that low-demand environment which, however, required rapid reproduction to compensate for the extremely high death rate on that continent.  No matter how much money Whitey (or Chinks, for that matter) pour into Afroland, the locals will never sustain the temporarily higher cultural level once the money-pourers leave.

Moreover, anywhere that Blacks have recently (in historical terms) migrated, their living conditions have always gravitated to the bottom of whatever societies they settle amongst, no matter what the skin color of the people they have invaded.  This is not due to evil Whites.  The Negroid bell curve is centered far below that of any other race (except Australoids, which are an early offshoot of the most primitive emigrations into unchallenging environments, so producing no evolutionary advances there.)

But of course, none are so blind as those who will not see.  I suggest you return to the first grade.

  28. Cloggie on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 4:56 am

I’m not so convinced that there is much difference in “reproductive capacity” between races. In my youth in the sixties in Holland, four child families were the norm. The word “baby boomer” says it all. Meanwhile white birth rates have collapsed (and so did Japanese).

    Main reasons:

    – birth control, completely decoupling sport and production sex
    – feminism en gender equality ideology
    – pessimistic views regarding the future
    – materialism and hedonism and individualism

Sex has become a consumer product without consequences. Children are seen as “accidents”.

Women no longer need men for survival and have a career option and postponing child birth is the new norm. When they are 38 and get “gate closure panic”, it is usually too late. Women are taught they are equal to men and can have it all.

Due to the “Report of the the club of Rome” and similar reports and documentaries, most people in the West have a (closet) pessimistic outlook on life and the future. “In what kind of world am I going to put my children?” is a common consideration and a put-off.

Raising a child according to western standards can easily cost $200k. That’s a lot of hours in the cubicle. That’s not a big stimulus to raise 3 or more children.

Marriage laws are completely biased against men. The woman initiates divorce in 80% of the cases for this very reason with negative financial consequences for the man. Many young men know this meanwhile (from their parents) and refuse to marry.

All in all, if white people and their magnificent culture has a chance to survive at all, liberal modernity and almost all its assumptions, brought to us by the post-war US, ruled by its globalist Anglo-Zionist elite (responsible for the war in the first place), needs to be completely destroyed. We are not going to destroy white civilization, just because Africans can’t keep their pants on and make their offspring our problem. What needs to be destroyed/changed in particular is:

    – destruction of gender equality (men are for work, women for children)
    – restoration of the family, based on offspring and not (entirely) on “romantic love”.
    – end of third-worldism and do-gooderism. The Third World is a nasty place, not a treasury of wisdom, as many liberals want to have it (to prepare for global empire)
    – Africa for the Africans!
    – full adoption of ecological principles and non-destructive forms of energy generation and agriculture
    – rejection of economic growth at all cost. Enough is enough.
    – rejection of mass migration, if necessary application of harsh military force
    – replacement of universal human rights with the right for European children world-wide of a European future

  29. Theedrich on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 5:49 am

completely agree with you, Cloggie, that the globalist Anglo-Zionist elite needs to be completely destroyed.  On the issue of Negroid evolutionary retardation, however, I disagree.  All kinds of tests and research have shown that, for genetic reasons, Afroids have less impulse control, lower IQ’s and greater tendency toward violence than the rest of mankind.  Yes, the “baby boom” gave us a temporary spurt in population.  But White birthrates are a reflection of the socioeconomic situation, and go up or down with it.  In contrast, the Negro race is on the “r” (reproduction) side of the “r—k” spectrum, Whites and Orientals on the “k” (care for offspring, with fewer of them) side.  This is due to evolutionary history, not temporary social conditions.

In addition, the world is evolving toward ever greater reliance on, and need for, high intelligence, due to computers, automation, and the like — never mind the biospheric degradation.  (Increasing military tensions demonstrate this quite vividly.)  It can no longer afford either Anglo-Zionist globalism or jungle-bunny stupidity.  Or vast numbers of ThirdWorld basket cases that can only swamp the planetary lifeboat.  The self-flagellating Jesus-freakism of Whites has got to stop.

  30. Davy on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 6:45 am

    “Negroid evolutionary retardation”

Thee, you realize your ancestors are “out of Africa”. Do you realize that environmental and cultural conditioning has a big impact on development making the genetic argument highly suspect? IMA, who are white culturist/racist in determining white culture and ethnicity is “the model” “benchmark” all other cultures are based upon? White culture’s prevailing trends are responsible for our planetary destruction. That in my book places them at the bottom of the list if we are going to look at this issue with a binary value based gaming agenda.

Of, course, I am not going to blame whites for our planetary horrors. This is a human species tendency and typical of all humans of all colors. Some cultures/ethnicities have more wisdom or less opportunity to realize our species unique destructiveness. White European culture (Ugly Americans and hypocritical Anglos included) is by far the most destructive historically and now it is the Asians who are combining this European destructiveness with overpopulation in a deadly end game. So, I would say on balance your argument is emotional not substantive.

  31. Hello on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 7:35 am

One only has to look at negro achievments throughout the world to come to the sensible conclusion that they are not made for anything more demanding than eat and breed.

  32. joe on Wed, 19th Apr 2017 9:23 am

Ill go you one further. Whites are doomed. Quite rightly the survivors of ww2 looked at poverty and correctly identified population and investment as the killers of poverty, so they got to work, they brought in mass abortion and mass welfare. The result was growing demand and growing demand for labour. The solution was and remains mass migration to compensate for all the missing white poor humans that were aborted. So armies of happy brown people now come in to take over a system created by those now aging and dying but not replacing themselves. Mathematically its a certainty that whites will vanish and no amount of anger from whites will make them accept mass poverty for them to create a pool from which to draw cheap labour again. Wealth kills populations because the wealthy look for ways to get wealthier. Its what happened to Rome and Sparta etc.

Ill go you one further. Whites are doomed… Mathematically its a certainty that whites will vanish and no amount of anger from whites will make them accept mass poverty

Only western modernity and the US empire are doomed. Meanwhile there is a right-wing reaction brewing everywhere in the West.

See it as my strawberry plants in plastic planters. I didn’t care about them in the last Winter and they all looked dead in their dry soil. Two weeks ago I cleaned them up, removed the weed, added some fresh soil and most important gave them water… and see… we’re back in business! Green shoots where-ever you look.

Won’t be different with the “Aryan race” after we have thoroughly destroyed the stinking post-WW2 liberal West.

Apneasnot, this time Russia and all European countries, not to mention China, the world of Islam and one half of the United States…

… are no longer on your side. The time has arrived for some major league revenge. Trump is only a small sign of things to come.

Your time is up. Karma is a bitch.

Forgot to add this link after “half of the United States…”

    It’s coming, the breakup.

Sure clog, same as some yaker said last year and the year before and the year before that and on and on going back my whole life. Many Americans have a lifelong case of secessionist fever. Will it ever happen? Sure it always does. Other than the countries and civilization today all that have come before us have fallen as all will. There are many explanations for this and I have read all of the research on it but in the end it all comes down to human nature. Overshoot is built into civilization – all of them. It’s part of nature. None of these retards you listen to never seem to give any credence to energy, overpopulation and the fact that no one can put low hanging fruit back on the tree and are outright deniers of environmental predicaments. It’s always a retard simple Manichean morality tale for you and them. Childs version of reality. As if the physical world does not exist and all hinges on emotion and tribalism. Which is also rooted in your biologly/nature. You are not really in control of those feelings. You do posses the ability to temper those feeling if you were to exercise the logic and rational producing part of the neo cortex, but that takes effort and courage and you obviously prefer the security blanket of your fantasy tribal story. The easy way. Must be getting harder though huh? I mean the evidence that civilization has ensured it’s own destruction from environmental reasons alone is indisputable and by the day more are coming to the same conclusion, based on evidence, that I have a 5 years ago – that not only is there enough in the pipe to wipe out civilization, but the species itself. History really is over, but the humans are not wired to admit it. You and those like you will only become more shrill in your claims of renaissance as the damage mounts. Do you have any idea of how foolish y’all look and sound talking about rebuilding while the infrastructure falls apart due to neglect and is getting hammered more and more as a consequence of AGW? Again, most of what I share is not models or guesses, but real world, real time destruction of civilization and the incidences are growing in frequency and severity.

Given your geography, you’re the one who should be worried about countries breaking up.

How a Warming Planet Drives Human Migration
Climate displacement is becoming one of the world’s
most powerful — and destabilizing — geopolitical forces.

Migration is one of the 4 cornerstones of evolution and is more powerful than any country or EU. Look to your Germany barbarian ancestors and how their migration helped take down the Roman empire (west). Can’t be stopped when they get the idea in their head that the only way they will survive is to ride that inner tube across the Med to the promised EU land.

The worlds poorest people are having the most children. They have not figured out the connection between their poverty and family size. Endless population growth is not sustainable. If you can not provide for yourself you can not provide for a child.

    @ Kenz

Good to hear from you, finally. I was ready to send out a Kenz APB.
