Bill Gates: “I Love Nuclear”

For faithful viewers of the ANS Nuclear Matinee—an instant classic from not so long ago, starring Microsoft founder, philanthropist, and nuclear energy enthusiast (and investor) Bill Gates.

Gates is a prominent investor in the nuclear reactor development firm TerraPower. For more information on the “traveling wave” reactor concept that the company is developing, see this post at ANS Nuclear Cafe, and this interview with TerraPower CEO John Gilleland in ANS Nuclear News magazine. More recent company news, including exploration of other reactor designs and thorium fuel, can be found in very interesting interviews posted at the Weinberg Foundation blog.

Gates’ enthusiasm for a better future world of infinite energy supply is quite infectious—see for yourself!

Of course Gates loves nukes, there unproven, expensive, faulty, potentially dangerous to all its users. They are centralized and can only be built with massive gov’t support(which encourages corrupt cartel-like behavior) and are not decentralized by any measure

Mmmm… sound like anything else Gates also promoted in the past?

Those who think nuclear power is safe, then have one built next to their home.

Maybe Bill should put his money where his mouth is, and offer to fund the containment and cleanup, of both Fukushima, and Chernobyl.

I am sure that he could afford to at least clean one of them up, with all of his ‘wealth’.

What is the definition of a “clean-up” of nuclear waste?

    Dump it into the ocean?

Hide it in some mountain caves?

If nuclear wastes are miraculously (not by rocket launch) put on Moon or Mar or any other planet, or put 100 miles deep down into the Earth, then we can call that a “real clean-up”. Otherwise, it’ll come back to haunt us one day.

    LT,

    Exactly my point.

Hmm, that’s interesting. I think I’ve seen this video https://pintensify.com here. Maybe I am wrong. I should check that again.
