Putin has something people actually want.

America has only threats to offer.

Naaa. The US offers protection - just like the mob does. Offers you cant refuse. -And as long as "you" do as they say and you are in a key position somehow - ure a made man. Besides Denmark undoubtedly got way richer from all those nice government contracts shipping military and rebuilding equipment to Iraq for example.

There are countless recent examples of this - not the least our very own prime minister (in Denmark) who got a NICE job at NATO for being a traitor and liar - or Kofi Annan, who got in trouble when he didnt do as requested. Poor Kofi thought he could get away with thinking he had a choice of agenda - but they dug something up on a family member of his and used this.

Mind you, I am not anti-US - if anything im anti-everybody.

Besides it seems very convenient to have this extra pipeline bypassing all those eastern european countries.
It does, however, give Russia a better lever to manipulate the EU. One day the question will be "Can the monkey release the banana or it is caught?"
"If democracy is the least bad form of government - then why dont we try it for real?"

You can't shake gas & oil out of Russia like a banana out of a bottle. Only way the monkey gets anything is holding the bottle upright, placing the lips at the correct position to suck up the juice, then squeeze rhythmically.

Putin decided Obama is a wimp who won't respond to being gobsmacked so Putin is gobsmacking him

The fake conflict with Putin makes me laugh. Putin is an actor on this stage same as every US president since about 1913. If he was a real nemesis he would have taken a bullet in the head. Its like the "choice" at the grocery store or the "different" media networks or the "candidates" at the election.

What don't you understand about Supranational Banking Entity that feeds itself through the sovereigns legal system?

Its like the farmer who looks at the cattle inside his pen and says: "Look, old USAbull and new RusHanbull are taking up too much space and resources without maximizing our return and thus hurt our profits. We should make sure RusHanbull wins this fight because he has better genetics and will enhance our profits and let inferior USAbull die"

Facade: Your hero Putin
Real Deal: World Communism (aka New Economic Plan NEP)

Russia. A declining and alcoholic population that has a GDP of $2 Trillion a year? Yeah, sounds like a worker's paradise.

WithNail believes Putin is Batman.

Much like everyone around here believes Elon Musk is Robin.

Putin suffers from small man syndrome much like the Russian citizenry. In the back of their minds they know Russia is no more than a 3rd world economy with nukes. Makes them feel bad so they bluster continuously with nothing to back their play.

pstarr wrote:You idiot republican reactionaries didn't read what I posted. Putin and Merkel, Russia and Germany, just signed several deals to do the old run-around the USA. We are being left standing up to our loins in our own rusting military debris.

Clueless.

Pstarr.. I know your heart is the right place, but the thing you don't realize is that even if we had all peace-loving hipsters in birkenstocks, in power, it doesn't therefore follow that the world is safe.

There's nothing to cheer about, if Uncle Sam gets "gobsmacked" and Germany makes a deal with Russia. I't like a game of RISK, man. Germany's gonna do whatever is in Germany's interest -- if it's in their interest to game us, or to do the old cold war game of playing neutral and playing off both sides, then that's what they'll do.

It's like when David Cameron signed the UK up as founding partner for the China Bank. He told Washington, "I'm sorry, sometimes our interests will diverge."

But Pstarr, that doesn't somehow mean there's some just moral right or moral superiority on that other side -- with Putin, with Beijing.

It's just new bosses, man. Same as the old boss. But really, much worse, because those others are not democracies and do not have a Bill of Rights. I'm not putting Russian nor Chinese culture down -- but they are just different, they have authoritarian systems. They're actually not the best leaders for the world. Because they will not be like we were, they won't see hungry people somewhere and want to feed them; they won't see a genocide, and want to stop it; they won't want to do what is RIGHT, just because it is right.

So.. the world loses a lot.. as these other powers rise and shake things up and start little hybrid wars all over the place with all this suffering.

It's the USA that did so much to stop HIV explosion in Africa. Is the USA that has reversed annexations, like Kuwait, and liberated peoples. It was the USA, American leadership and willingness alone, that single handedly contained ebola. Obama sent the army to africa. Nobody else did that, nobody else in the world gives a sh*t, they just care about themselves and look the other way.

And for all of you that go on about Iraq and American global policing, of the past, I'll tell ya something -- these new rising powers will do the same darn thing, but it'll be more about 19th century style expansion, outright annexation and new territory. They're new powers, on the rise, on the march. Cheering Putin on is NOT cheering world peace, hardly.

I've seen enough of the "Anglo-Saxon" version of Sodom and Gommorah. You can all flourish in your ghettos.

I've got my vodka and my chocolate...Munich here I come.

The Quantum Computer will be developed in Munich and then I shall watch California disintegrate into the equivalent of 1960's Vietnam.

.
The deal has little to do with Obama , whomever is the white house mummy is irrelevant.
America foreign policy is not done in the white house ,

the doubling of North Stream is an insurance move against the Turks
with Turkish stream ongoing , it only make sense not to put all of one eggs in the same basket
if the Turks play too cute , there is going to be a fall back position .

on top , it will make Gazprom a major player in the West European gas market
we shall see if the Norwegian and Dutch like this one ,
Russia was supplying the Eastern part of the continent , but those remain of the comecon are deadbeats
and hardly worth the trouble.
playing on the Western market is so much more juicy ,
as for the Easterners , let them buy Russian gas from the West , plus cost and profit !!!
...anybody cheering ?

Hey 6, USA may have a bill of rights but doesn't stop it having the highest incarceration rate in the world by far or being the second biggest executioner. You live in an authoritarian state.

What would you expect any American leader to do about Germany and Russia building a pipeline together?

The USA will show Merkel! We'll spy on her grandchildren's calls too! That will soften her up to us and make her realize that we are her one TRUE ally!

You would think there would be more immigration into socialist countries from the USA to live in their utopia. But sadly, the US is stuck with their endless complaining about how bad they have it here.

What countries do you believe are socialist, and is the USA not socialist in many respects?

What countries is the flood of immigrants to the US coming from?

Aren't they mostly Spanish speaking from non socialist countries?
