Post Oil studies

Have any serious post oil studies been done? I’m not talking about the ones by car companies and energy firms, but real academic papers based on macro and micro issues across the board. And if no studies have been done, why not?

On the research group would need to be agriculture, scientific, transport, energy, economic, industry, strategic studies, law and military specialists.

A number of scenarios would have to be looked at from a soft landing point of view to major changes in society.

No academic studies I know off deal with the whole scope of effects. There are uncountable studies dating back to the first political oil crisis events the majority of which are national energy studies. Very good, still relevant but ignored for the last 30 years.

(I would love to read them though if they are around and one of us can come up with some)

Societies are notoriously incapable of addressing their own demise. People have and do cut the last tree down. See J. Diamonds book Collapse.

There is however a comprehensive systems based proposal for a solution to post carbon living and that is Permaculture. The main raison de entrée for Permaculture is the non sustainability of fossil fuel based food production and living. It is comprehensive, includes urban situations, is scientific, practical and works.

Recommend Mollison and Holmgrens ground breaking books.
