How to code html for creating a sig line?

Unread postby Byron100 » Wed 24 Oct 2007, 11:16:25

Since I'm positive that I'm not the only one on here that hasn't been able code a sig line in my profile due to the "code in html" requirement, I'd like to ask exactly how it's done for the benefit of clueless folks such as I.

Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated. :)

html is easy enough normally, but when I went to set mine up, even though it says it's enabled, I had no luck.

So I tried BBcode....which works great.

Here's the syntax:

<url=http://www.gashostage.com>save us from fossil fuel depletion</url>?

just change the < and >'s to [ and ]'s

hope it helps :)

One more thing, I do notice a big gap under my sig line...any ideas of how this could be rectified? And will not using any tags at all make any difference?

I just tried to get my sig to work. I wonder if it worked? I put b's encased in brackets on each side. Is that right?

Tried that, it just keeps the tags as part of the sig itself. I'm guessing some sort of coding is needed to keep the sig on one line instead of taking up the whole block like mine is apparently doing.

Anyhow, I'd better stop messing with this while I'm ahead..I'd hate to be the one responsible for crashing the whole board...LOL.

Edit, and now, of course, it's fixed itself...LOL. Life is strange sometimes...go figure.

Duh! I didn't have the box checked to show my sig. Never mind...

Like your sig, btw :)

Now we'll have to see if that big gap goes away or not...funny it still shows up under my earlier posts but not in the current ones...

For anyone else out there that wants to try out sig lines, I'd suggest using this thread as a testing ground. :)
