Still with the chemical weapons hoax? Meanwhile 100 civilians are slaughtered by the "moderate" jihadis and not a peep of concern:

So some children are more precious than others?

(BTW, CNN calls these children "Assad supporters" so it must be OK to murder them according to CNN, which claims to never broadcast propaganda).

Maybe the reason the USA is in Syria is our government has gone bat shit crazy?

Makes as much sense as any explanation I've seen here.

Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama/Trump

What do they all have in common?

All are the titular leaders of our bat shit crazy government? Maybe this is the kind of thing that has just taken in a life of its own. No rhyme nor reason no more.

There is always a reason. Some pretext to be leveraged for gain by somebody. Too bad all of us are going on this crazy ride if we want to, or not.

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/4022 ... cal-attack

So Russia informed the US about a bombing run on the Idlib warehouse that turned into the "chemical weapons attack" theater. And the the NATO monkeys at the UN were threatening Russia with investigation.

.
only the evening news are crazy ,
the weapon programs are doing fine
I saw that the debt ceiling , once suspended , has been reinstated at its present level ,
a bi-partisan decision to raise it is due later in the year .

From CNN

"The debt ceiling deadline came and went earlier this month with little of the attendant fanfare that has become the norm in recent years. That's because the government was able to employ "extraordinary measures" at its disposal to give itself the cash it needs to operate.

Consequently, the U.S. has continued to meet its obligations to creditors while keeping the doors open to the business of government.

In essence, there are three funds the Treasury Department can work with to keep the U.S. from defaulting on its debts: the savings plan for federal employees, often called the G Fund; the Exchange Stabilization Fund that the government uses for its currency operations, and the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund, or the main pension fund for federal workers."

?????

Turkey does not have anything like a "homogeneous" nature.

You must have missed the fact that Turkey did ethnic cleansing of its Greek minority in the 19th and early 20th centuries, committed genocide against its Armenia minority in the early 20th century and has been fighting a war against its Kurdish minority for decades now.

And now, since 2016, its been closing newspapers and purging universities, courts, the army etc. of anyone suspected of not fully backing Erdogan. Just going to a political meeting or signing a petition gets you fired from the universities---there was a story about it on the PBS new hour just last night.

Cheers!

And what does the rest of that sentence say?

US shoots down Syrian jet

US Escalation in Syria

The US war against the Caliphate seems to be entering its final phase. However, a US new war against the Syrian regime may be on the horizon, as the US just shot down a Syrian regime jet.

Apparently the Syrian regime jet bombed militias aligned with the US---militias that are fighting both the Caliphate AND the Syrian regime. No doubt the Kurds etc. fighting the Caliphate would love to have to the US on their side in their war against the Syrian regime as well, and so far the US is backing them.

If Trump keeps on bombing Syria airfields and shooting down Syrian jets, he'll bumble the US right into another war against the Syrian regime.

Russian has responded to the US attack on the Syrian jet by saying that they will shoot down anything that wanders into Syrian airspace.

russia-shoot-down-all-flying-objects-in-syria-us-regime-warplane

Apparently in practice, according to the new report, that doesn't mean they will shoot down US jets---but only that will "lock on" to US jets with their radar systems.

Nonetheless, we move another step closer to a US-Russia military provocation in Syria.

No. Russia said it would paint with radars any flying objects west of the Euphrates. Lovely how the NATO fake stream media puts its own spin to push its narratives of hate against Russia.

The US somehow "missed" the massive oil convoys to Turkey from eastern Syria that were a major source of the ISIS money supply. When pressed with this obvious coddling of ISIS, US mouthpieces claimed that burning oil would pollute the environment. Yeah, right, like you f*ckers cared back in 1999 when you bombed the Panchevo petrochemical facility near Belgrade with its massive array of storage tanks (equivalent to dozens of the ISIS truck convoys). Now the US is showing a clear pattern of succoring ISIS by attacking Syrian ground and air forces at key moments. In this instance, the US is attempting to provide safe passage of ISIS/Daesh terrorists from Raqqa to Deir Ezzor, i.e. make it harder for Syria to restore control over eastern Syria. Which has all the oil and gas deposits.

Yup.

The Obama administration was pretty dumb sometimes.

Whether the Russians have the capability to down an American fighter is suspect. The Israeli's conducted four different bombing missions into Syria in the April/May time frame and one of those was close to Damascus.

Keep giving them opportunities to practice and they will figure it out.

They only need to down 1 to have a huge propaganda win.

I really don't think either side gains propaganda points with a shoot down. As to capability; either we fly non stealth jets and accept that the Russians can kill them at will (S400); or we fly stealth jets in front of the most advanced radar our enemy can field and allow them to gain a continuous stream of data that could be used to defeat our trillion dollar investment in the future. All over a side show, in a country most couldn't care less about.

Its completely a no-win game for us, and a very low risk game for Russia to sit and listen. That said, if we fire on a Russian jet, we should absolutely expect effective return fire.

I think we made it clear to the Iranians, Syrians, and Russians to stay away from the forces we support. Apparently, they needed another lesson. US shoots down another Iranian drone.

.
It's a bit more complicated that that ,this is mission creep mucho grande
the Australian government , as staunch an ally as there is , has forbidden its planes from flying over Syria

I just wonder what exactly is the legal situation , has there been some form of congressional approval ?

You're link doesn't want to load, but its fair to speculate that the fuel and missile used, likely cost much more than the drone it destroyed.

Completely different situation than whether or not we put F35's on combat missions in front of S400 radars.

Trump has expanded Obama's war against the Caliphate. Its almost inevitable now that the Caliphate will fall.

And what then?

It really looks like Trump is setting the stage now for another war against the Syrian regime and Iran. Already he has committed two acts of war against Syria----blowing up an airfield and shooting down a jet. AND we've got US special forces scattered all across Syria advising and arming various anti-Assad factions.

I'd say after ISIS falls, Trumps plan is to move immediately on to the conquest of Damascus.

Hmm killing Russians, Syrians, or Iranians? Its a real dilemma to figure out which one would be the most enjoyable.

Not sure why one should care as long as we get value out of anything we expose to Russian intel. I'm completely opposed to the idea of doing a happy party over killing a few Russians if it means sensitive hardware is exposed to the most concentrated and effective intel gathering setup the Russians/Soviets have ever fielded.

That's very poor value if you ask me. Very high dollar per giggle as it were.
