Free Energy

Unread postby lutherquick » Mon 22 May 2006, 13:37:33

I posted before on this subject, but now have detail that makes this concept real. Before, it seamed too far fetched.

The link below is a video on this Canadian experiment that will make 52 homes "nearly" energy independent.
http://www.ipenergy.com/data/inter-seas ... torage.wmv (14 meg video)

There are about 6 or 7 of these installations world wide, that is it, most in the EU.
The concept is to collect heat (solar or waste heat) from the SUMMER and store in insulated earth pit (just soil) for use in the WINTER.
The pit would reach 80 degrees Celsius.

In 2006 a Canadian company started the construction of a 52 home community using this technique.
It seams to me they could make the entire community "off grid" completely with a little more effort by using CHP (co-generation), or solar sterling to electric, addition energy management software, and some wind power.

Free Energy?

Unread postby chakra » Sat 17 Jun 2006, 22:15:42

While going through the google video directory, I found this interesting video on free energy. It's a fairly long video at 1 hour and 49 minutes and looks to be a few years old now, but some of the demonstrations in it are very interesting.

Here's the link

Free energy device

Unread postby paimei01 » Wed 04 Jul 2007, 09:13:06

An Irish company will demonstrate their free energy machine today at 6 PM in London :

http://cryptogon.com/?p=975

I don't trust them until I buy one and it works, and I don't care about what laws of physics it breaks as long as it works

One day there will be so many houses, that people will be bored and will go live in tents. "Why are you living in tents ? Are there not enough homes ?" "Yes there are, but we play this Economy game". Now it's "Crisis" time !Too many houses! Yes, we are insane!

Crap. Went to the website to see the demo, but I can't access it.

I wrote them off awhile back, but now I want to see how it plays out.

I've guessed it. It's an Irishman strapped to a treadmill with a bottle of Jameson Whiskey dangled in front of him just out of reach.

The force of his will will make him immortal and he will become a wraith but the mill will keep on moving producing a perpetual 100 watts of power.

Unfortunately, there are only 2 million Irishmen so only 200 megawatts of power can be produced indefinitely.

Sorry.

Paddy, could you please hop on a plane and go check this out for us? I would, if I was there. I really want to hope that this isn't a flaming pile of BS.

If you Paypal me €1,000 for my expenses I promise I'll go over.

BTW: Caelan is excited about meeting his future girlfriend.

I don't know if this Steorn invention would be a good thing even if it was true. We'll just consume away until the next barrier to growth. Peak food, peak water, peak a boo.

You're right, I'm sure. But I can't help it, I'm a closet optimist. Hugs to Caelan!

From their forum:

Hi Folks,

I was just chatting to Sean a couple of minutes ago and he asked me to pass on the following :

A test unit which was built yesterday in Kinetica, in the temporary lab we have set up. Once we had signed off on the final magnetic configurations we went to transfer this magnetic config to the display case on the exhibition floor.

Here they ran into some technical issues, firstly a problem with the bearings, which was fixed once identified. The next issue appears to be an environmental issue. We think possibly the temperature from the lighting system in the immediate area, but this has to be further assessed in the morning.

The current plan of action is to have a technical meeting in the morning and we will update you from there - we are planning to turn on the web streaming by lunch time so we can give you an ongoing update on progress (and you can see some stressed Engineers working in real-time, if it is not fixed by then!)

The demo will go ahead as soon as we fix the small outstanding issues.

Please except our apologies on this and we will update you first thing in the morning.

Kind regards,

SeamusF

"The Challenge of Developing Carbon-free Energy: How Fast Can It Grow?"
NSIDC Conference

August 22-23 Colorado University, host of the NSIDC, will be holding a conference on climate change and carbon free energy production. Is anyone going and if you are would you PLEASE report back after the conference for those of us around the world who can not attend?
Featuring Guest Speakers:

Bill Reinert, National Manager of Advanced Technologies Toyota
Dan Glick (Freelance Writer for National Geographic, Smithsonian)
Susan Moran (Freelance Writer for The New York Times, The Economist)
Keith Kloor (CU-Boulder Scripps Fellow)
Peter Dykstra (CNN)
Len Ackland, CU-Boulder, Co-director of the Center for Environmental Journalism
Tom Yulsman, CU-Boulder, Co-director of the Center for Environmental Journalism

It should be a good conference.

Free energy from gravity

Unread postby no_wuckin_ferries_mate » Mon 09 Jan 2012, 19:13:07

I know such claims are B.S., however, I can't find where the catch is with this design. Even if I know it cannot work, could somebody tell me why?

Please go away for a while and study. Learn some basic physics and then we could have some basis on which to have an intelligent conversation about gravity.

By the way, your link contains a virus which my AV stopped fortunetly.

Thanks for two arrogant replies.

Would anybody else be able to explain? I was just asking a polite question.

Also I was not aware that you could catch a virus just by visiting a website.

It's exactly the opposite of rocket science, totally uncomplicated.
Gravity always goes one way. It is not possible to extract more energy by dropping something than it took to get it up in the first place, as there has to be a 'worker' to do the work of lifting, itself and the object lifted.

There will never be a better gravity power than hydro-electric. In this example gravity is the force driving the turbines, but the energy is actually recycled solar energy. The sun lifts the water in the form of vapour, it is condensed in the apmosphere begins it's descent to the sea, on route at some point returning some of the sun's energy through the turbine.

You didn't know about virus infections coming from website visits? Wow.

Edit: as seagypsy says

Put simply, if an object dropping converts the gravitational force into energy, then energy would be needed to place the object back up in the starting place.
As the energy needed to place the object back in it's starting place will always be greater than the energy generated when it falls, this thing will never work!

1. You can try to tamper with accretion discs which can be found around black holes and other similar compact objects scattered around Galaxy.

About 30-40% of mass falling into BH could be recovered in form of energy (radiation and also jets of charged particles).

And if you drop an apple on the neutron star you will get an energy equivalent of few Mt thermonuclear explosion.
And if you have plenty of apples and other things it will go on and on. :-D :-D :-D

2. Tidal wave energy on Earth is delivered from gravitational energy of Moon - Earth system.
It is produced at the expense of Moon slowly "going away", though it is expected to hang around for few billions years more.

3. Hydro power plants are converting gravitational energy of falling water into other more useful forms (usually electricity).

Duh, couldn't we just push mountains down and harvest the falling energy? They're already up there.
