The only way to create jobs here again would be to roll back globalism. All the handouts to Wall Street, banksters, and the rich have ended up funding infrastructure in other nations -- China, Brazil, India, Central America, Mexico, the whole frickin' world. That's the problem here Timmac, our national policies favor the rich but the rich don't favor this country.

why? because when you're the number one power, the last thing you want is change. change is bad in that case, since it could result in toppling you off the top of the mountain. great powers like us want stability & work hard towards freezing all relations in order to maintian the status quo.

Oh I know exactly what is needed and its real change, and focusing here does not mean a bigger government but a smaller smarter one.

Unfortunately I and others have to make these extreme comments because what is about to happen here is going to be extreme if we don't stop now and fix it right, yes its going be tough for some but the outcome will be better in the long run, we also need a moral change here as well, if we don't change ours morals than it will be all for nothing.

Part of Americas down fall is getting away from the true God and true family values..

To begin with, an average mind is not all that sharp. Add the fluoride as you note, plus conditioning it into passivity, indoctrination it into the government plunder and control system, starve it with devitalized food and beverage, and subject it to many other industrial toxins, and you have the average American. No wonder it has been so easy for a very few to gain control of government and use it for the benefit of themselves and their elite backers.

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The Hoover Dam, one of the world's great engineering feats, is marred by roads with traffic so jammed along the Nevada-Arizona border that it tells a different story about the political will to maintain 21st century infrastructure.

The road leading to the dam cannot accommodate the torrent of tourists and spills them into the overwhelmed little town of Boulder City. Nevada lawmakers are trying to find a private company to build a $400 million bypass because the state can't afford it.

The phrase "you can't get there from here" is increasingly apt nearly everywhere one turns. America's roads, highways, bridges and transit systems are falling apart.

Yes America is falling apart and has been since the early 1970's---not coincidentally when USA oil production peaked.

the problem of capital stagnation that US national capital faced (and continues to face) during the 70's was not simply a consequence of peak US oil. indeed, unlike the soveit union, the US was able to tap the rest of the world for its energy needs. the problem has been and continues to be a complex of lack of profitability of investment at a level sufficient to drive adequate expansion; and the international division of labor, which manifests itself in the off-shoring of US manufacture and export toward areas of the globe where the costs are such that an adequate rate of expansion is still possible.
