I hear you brother. I always like to point out to those from outside the industry who get excited about "so and so" is a multi-millionaire all made from oil and gas that for every successful oil and gas guy there are ten who have come close to losing their shirt. It is about 20% smarts, 20% luck and 60% timing to my mind. I've know a couple of very smart CEO's in little startups who took it on the chin in country X while another fellow I knew was making out like a bandit in country Y....nothing to do with the successful operations of any of the companies (they had all done well that way) it was more to do with the above ground issues in country X which served to sterilize share prices of companies working there. Certainly not a game for the weak of heart or commitment.
