This comment is based upon preliminary viewing of an article re: oil prices. I am not a subscriber to the global warming fears. I am more inclined to rely on experts in the field rather than emotional outbursts. However, I do believe that the oil price debacle should be laid at the feet of Congress. In my opinion, this Congress is the most irresponsible of any that I have witnessed. I believe that this Congress is willing to destroy the economy of this Nation for the sole purpose of being elected. Then - after election - perhaps they will feel obligated to perform their responsibilities and duties pursusnt to Article I, Section 8, clauses 1; 3; 18. But before they discover what their duties are, I would recommend that the entire Congress be recalled and a new Congress - or new government be formed. Again, in my opinion,a response to the high oil prices could be "rationing and price controls". The United States is in an undeclared war with OPEC. In a war situation, emergency actions take place. Most of your readers are totally unaware of the actions that took place in 1942 to secure this Nation and its freedoms. But, to start with, fuel was rationed (3 gallons per week). Rationing would reduce the "demand" that oil companies claim as the reason for high fuel prices. Secondly - authorization to explore and drill offshore, in ANWR, and within the United States proper should be granted immediately and without further hearing in the do-nothing Congress. Then, develop coal-to-oil operations. Now, if this is an environmental organization, the foregoing opinions will definitely rub the feathers the wrong way!
