What's the reasoning behind this? I don't see it.

India doesn't want the poor to starve so the wealthy can drive cars.

That's a depressing thought. Should I conclude that India is part of the axis of exil?

On a more serious note, I would think that avarice would encourage poor farmers to choose the most profitable crop - not unlike certain folks with an entrepreneurial spirit in Afghanistan or Columbia.

Which would add a whole new dimension to biofuels, wouldn't it?
