It's not a matter of if a country can sell it's resources, it's a matter of who gets the lions share of the profits. If French corporations are doing the extraction and selling they will see to it that very little goes to the people of Niger, that's capitalism, that's the
rational profit maximizer theory at work. Obviously as all these nations escape from the Western hegemony and unite under the banner of the BRICS we in the West will be paying a lot more for the resources. So we will have a more equitable world, at the expense of Western prosperity.
