Re: Iran seizes 15 British marines and sailors in Gulf

Unread postby rockdoc123 » Fri 23 Mar 2007, 17:42:40

seems to me if there was a british military boat in Iranian waters without permission that the Iranians had every right to seize them. The US coast guard would do exactly the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot.

There has been past hostilities between the british and Iran. A few years back an Iranian gunboat fired across the deck of a BP support vessel which was working as support in Azerbaijan. The Caspian division has long been under dispute so the basis for this disagreement was Iran saw one boundary, Azerbaijan another. A similar thing may be happening in this latest instant with the Iraq view of the boundary being different than the Iran view.

Sure, Israel is looking for a cause for war. Funny thing , it will be also the only country who will not participate in it and noone will be even asking why.

Not this time. Israel has it's back against the wall.

Its back? All back they have are US dollars handed to them by jewish lobby in the US Senate and Congress. Well may be they will send a couple "instructors" to teach everyone Talmud or something. Weren't they jumping more than anyone before USA invaded Iraq?

Never said/implied it was, just that it could be put to those uses if so desired.
I'm not doubting Iran will release the soldiers, maybe they'll fan the flames for a while first. "Iranian Hostage Crisis," mmm, brings back memories.
It is impressive that they were picked up sans casualties. Iranmil rockzzz!!!!!!!! Wonder if they're full of brain-dead Alpha male gung hos too. Supposed to be a crack legion, plenty of bucks for weapons too.

I'm sure most Americans can't get around the idea of another Arab nation not being a pushover, in the actual ground war anyway. I was listening to this guy describe a parade ground drill in the Hussein days, very impressive until he got up close and realized the troops weren't wearing gloves - they were wearing socks!

"The troops were all very neat, with Saddam looking at them," recalls Iraq analyst and journalist Patrick Cockburn. "But when I got close, I noticed they weren't wearing gloves – they were white sports socks."

I'm thinking Amadjihad wanted to have a little 'collateral' before his trip to NYC.

You spoke too soon, this just in:

Ahmadinejad Calls Off Trip to US.

Iranian President President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called off his trip to New York to attend a critical United Nations Security Council meeting.
Iranian officials say the trip was canceled because the United States issued visas too late.

But State Department officials say all 75 visas for Mr. Ahmadinejad, his security detail, flight crew, and other officials were approved and handed over to Iranian representatives in Switzerland Friday. They say the visas were approved even though some of the applications were incomplete.

So what? Israel can nuke them back, even posthumously. Such a happy end for everybody. It will also save a bunch of money for US taxpayers.

A similar incident happened in 2004. Crews of three British boats were siezed and later released by Iran.

Iranis are indeed not Arabs, they're a different group. Iran means Land Of The Aryans, they consider themselves white but it seems a tenuous claim when put up alongside your typical pasty Northern European types. But, essentially, they do not consider themselves Arabs, lumping Iranis and Arabs into the same group is kind of like lumping the Japanese and Koreans into the same group, those two groups hate each other!

UK troops are sent to Iranian border

Unread postby KevO » Wed 12 Sep 2007, 17:25:57

British soldiers return to action as tensions between US and Iran grow
Exclusive by Kim Sengupta in Baghdad
Published: 12 September 2007

British forces have been sent from Basra to the volatile border with Iran amid warnings from the senior US commander in Iraq that Tehran is fomenting a "proxy war".

In signs of a fast-developing confrontation, the Iranians have threatened military action in response to attacks launched from Iraqi territory while the Pentagon has announced the building of a US base and fortified checkpoints at the frontier.

The UK operation, in which up to 350 troops are involved, has come at the request of the Americans, who say that elements close to the Iranian regime have stepped up supplies of weapons to Shia militias in recent weeks in preparation for attacks inside Iraq.

What I don't understand is the logic behind selecting that unit.

When I heard a couple of days ago that the Hussars were being sent home, I thought it made excellent sense from the point of view of positioning remaining forces for an eventual withdrawal, after all there is no point leaving main battle tanks out there as they and their support would be a dangerously slow-moving burden to extract if left to the last moment.

And yet here we are, sending a tank unit to the Iranian border. WTF. Common sense would suggest light, agile reconnaisance forces which can move around and conceal themselves if necessary. Instead, those guys are just going to sit there exposed? That makes sense to someone?

We used our NSA lawsuit as a visibility ploy.

It may be working too well.

Elisabeth Schumaker
Clerk of Court

Dear Ms Shumaker:

We read
Electronic Submission of Documents and
Conversion to an Electronic Case
Management System No. 95-01

GENERAL ORDER
FILED
August 10, 2007
and have questions about "Native PDF files are generated from original word processing files and are text searchable."

Here are pdf copies of our motions to vacate judgments submitted by mail on September 11, 2007.

http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/mora ... motion.pdf
http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/mora ... notice.pdf

and

http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/tent ... motion.pdf

Here are htm hotlink versions which link to copies of PACER dockets

and

http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/tent ... voidmotion http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/tent ... voidnotice

Our pdf files were generated from MyPDFCreator and are not "text searchable."

Could you please tell us how to generated from original word processing files, recommend products, and inform us of cost.

In the meantime, please return file stamped copies of the first pages of our submissions to void judgement for lack of jurisdiction and mandatory judicial notices.

These unfortunate matters are becoming far more serious now that criminal complaint affidavits have been forwarded to the Kirtland AFB commander.

http://www.prosefights.org/nmlegal/dcvo ... tm#feehan3

We appealed the our NSA visibility lawsuit to the Tenth Circuit.

If judge Armijo does not choose to vacate her voidable August 27, 2007 ORDER, then we will be forced to file a motion to void at the Tenth Circuit.

We continue to believe that peaceful settlement of these unfortunate matter is best for everyone.

Sincerely

Billl Payne

Subject: Motions to vacate judgments under Rule 60(b)(4) esubmission questions

Dear Mr. Payne-

Your email message was forwarded to me for a response. We do not make recommendations regarding which of the various products to use to turn Word files into native PDF documents but there are a number of options. I am guessing you have internet access because you are emailing, so you may want to do a search. I can confirm there are many, many products out there and many of them can be downloaded for free or for a very limited cost. It really is a very easy process. Also--please know that per the General Order, pro se litigants do not have to comply with the esubmission requirements. It is optional for you. You may send everything via regular mail. If the hard copies of your pleadings came with extra postage and extra copies (i.e., of the front pages) the case managers here will be happy to send back a file stamped version. Thanks very much.

Betsy Shumaker
Clerk of Court

Let's hope.

In order for the US to "justify" an attack on Iran, some spectacular event akin to 9/11 would have to occur. Wonder what that would be......

Like a real time strategy games...

1. Harvest Resources
2. Build Army + Technology
3. Resources Depleted Look for new available sources
4. Found New resources by unfriendly bases
5. Seek diplomatic or taunting for a fight
6. Lead them out to fight...clear their troops then move into their base
7. if 6 don't work, build base around their resources
8. Long range attack until they surrender
9. Move in and take over new resources
10. Repeat from 1

He does that all the time, on every thread, can the mods not send him some kind of notice to stay on topic??
