A sudden big and lasting shortage of oil is not feasible.

But a sudden big surge in oil price has already happened and will surely happen again, not because of a lack of oil,but simply because there are a lot of clever people very interested to make fast bucks on it:BE SURE!

Look at this year we have had a lot of causes for a shortage:Venezuela,Russia,Iraq, the hurricanes storming the gulf of mexico.
But we were never short of oil. Interesting no?
But anyway the clever guys managed to double its price, speculating on our fears.
This is the sole danger now and it has to be well documented.
Otherwise it will certainly recur.
Because the rise of the price of oil has been mostly artificial.
Not representing the reality.

Most of your posts are a joke man.

Are you kidding me? Fast bucks? Pretty much every country is in decline or near decline in the world, that means instead of pumping more oil - less is being pumped out. This is an execption for a few countries which are making up for all the other countries in decline - but these sources are also near their peak. Fast bucks is how the oil game is played, but to say the rise in price is just a scam, and is not showing a underlying trend is bs.

Short on oil? Not yet, as of now we are able to increase supply a fraction of what we wish too. Demand is growing and supply can now longer grow with it. Why - because we are reaching the Peak, once there is no more space compacity, more reserves to pump to increase overall production - is when we are maxed out. This is happening now. And what happends right after the peak?? Thats right buddy, then comes the decline. So you think people who know whats going on right now, are not worried about the price of oil? Just because the 'shortages' are not here yet, does not mean they will not come soon ahead.

"Speculating on our fears".. our fears? Its not our fears there worried about, there trying to keep their fears to themselves and not let us know.. they are speculating on THEIR fears - fears most people are not aware of. The Peak Oil base is small when it comes to the regular population - but the people who are high up in the oil business - they sure know what to expect. They are not worried about the consumers, when have they ever cared about the consumers? They care about themselves, and their own profits - and in the wake of peak oil, price speculation will indeed occure. Sure there are always companies out to make the quick buck - but thats not whats driving oil prices, its the fear of the peak, which is already showing strong and definate warning signs - signs which show there is no longer spare compacity and the peak is near.

Whats your point here? I dont get it, from the title your trying to say oil will not run out. It could be sudden, it could be gradual - but thats not the fear. The collapse once the decline comes will be sudden, severe and perminate. The oil declines will take decades - but the forces that drive our economy will be crippled long before the last drop is pumped. The oil shortages will be lasting - long lasting.. the days of increasing oil production are over, declines are what we will have to deal with. Its going to happen if you want it to or not, its a matter of scientific fact and an overabundent source of evidence. Your not making a single point that is proving your case that can be taken seriously.
