Thanks for posting about this!

I'm Mason, the author of the the book. If anyone wants to see the reviews, they can go to my website, where I have links to the full reviews from the journals Science, Nature, and Nature Energy:
http://oracleofoil.com

I have also heard more reviews are in the works—for example, for the Financial Times:

If anyone wants a taste of what the book is like, there's an excerpt on Scientific American's website:
"How the Prophet of Peak Oil Explained Fracking in the 1950s"

pstarr - About 38 years ago the Rockman did one of the first "mega-frac's"...>500,000# of proppants. Did it in a vertical well completed in a carbonate shale. And no: not a commercial success. And frac'd his first Eagle Ford vertical completion about 30 years ago...a marginal success. And 20 year ago completed dozens of horizontal wells in another carbonate formation in Texas. Since that were naturally broken he didn't have to frac them. Used the same equipment to drill them that was used in the more recent EFS play.
