UN warns of ‘famines of biblical proportions’ within the next year

UN warns of ‘famines of biblical proportions’ within the next year thumbnail

Story at a glance

  • In April, the head of the WFP warned of devastating famines in dozens of countries due to the ramifications of COVID-19.
  • World leaders responded with funds and stimulus packages and managed to avoid the worst-case scenario.
  • Now as the coronavirus continues to surge, prompting another wave of shutdowns, David Beasley says funding that was available this year will not be available in 2021.

The head of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is once again warning that the world is at risk of widespread famine as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, The Associated Press reports.

In April, WFP Executive Director David Beasley told the UN Security Council devastating famines could break out in dozens of countries in the developing world due to the effects of COVID-19 restrictions if action wasn’t taken.

World leaders responded with funds and stimulus packages and managed to avoid the worst-case scenario. But now as the coronavirus continues to surge, prompting another wave of shutdowns, Beasley says funding that was available this year will not be available in 2021.

“We were able to avert it in 2020,” Beasley told The Associated Press in an interview, but said without billions of dollars “we are going to have famines of biblical proportions in 2021.”

WFP needs $15 billion next year to avoid famine and to carry out the agency’s programs around the globe.

“If I could get that coupled with our normal money, then we avert famine around the world,” he told the news outlet.

In October, the WFP was awarded the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to fight hunger and food insecurity in conflict-affected areas around the globe amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Beasley said he’s been using the spotlight to warn world leaders that 2021 will be a more challenging year and to raise extra money from governments.

Beasley said in April 135 million people faced “crisis levels of hunger or worse” in 2020 and an additional 130 million could be pushed to the brink of starvation by 2021. But during a virtual interview Wednesday, he said the number of people facing crisis levels of hunger has risen to 270 million.

He said three dozen countries could experience famine if WFP doesn’t receive the necessary funding.

Countries such as Yemen, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria and Nigeria were particularly at risk.

“Most people that I know who voted ‘Leave’ in the UK did so for precisely this reason. They were convinced that membership of the EU had become a conduit for darkie immigration. Unfortunately, leaving the EU did not rid us of the ZOG-commie overlords that run our government. Those people are as strong as ever.”

I believe you that was your motivation, as well as of those of numerous other Brexiteers (combined with default English anti-continental feelings and preference for the US rather than EU as ally of last resort), but as you indicate yourself, that was delusional. Within the West, neither the EU nor London call the shots, that is the US and its media and dollar and nuke empire. Both the EU and UK are governed by globalist US-oriented vassal elites. Brexit will change NOTHING about UK-third world immigration, without an anti-left revolution, that is the reversal of what happened in 1968 in Paris.

Eastern Europe was finally liberated because the USSR went flat on its face. We in Western Europe will have to wait for the probable immanent unraveling of the US, before such an anti-1968 revolution can take place here.

“HUGE! Attorney Sidney Powell CONFIRMS Alleged Dominion Servers in Germany Were Confiscated — VIDEO”

“From our source: The US government, once they determined that this Dominion server was involved in switching votes, then the intelligence community began a search for the server and discovered that the server was in Germany. In order to get access to that server and have it available for use in a legal manner they had to have the State Department work in tandem with the Department of Justice. They had to request that the government of Germany cooperate in allowing this seizure of this server…The appropriate documents required to affect that kind of seizure were put in place, signed off on, and it appears there was also US military support in this operation. The US military was not in the lead. But this helps explain why Esper was fired and Miller and Kash Patel were put in place — so that the military would not interfere with the operation in any way. By getting ahold of the server they now are going to have the direct evidence of when they were instructed to stop counting. They will also discover who gave the direction to stop counting and who initiated the algorithm that started switching votes. The CIA was completely excluded from this operation…During the press conference on Thursday Attorney Sidney Powell weighed in on the Dominion-Smartmatic servers that were reportedly confiscated in Germany. Reporter Emerald Robinson: There were reports that a piece of hardware possibly a server was picked up in Germany. Is that true and is it related to this? Attorney Sidney Powell: That is true. It is somehow related to this. But I do not know if good guys got it or bad guys got it.”

    Anti-lockdown protests erupt across Europe.

Macron sounds like a totalitarian cad. A real piece of merde. Viva Le Pen!

I have no sympathy for the right-wing anti-corona attitude, neither in the US nor Europe.

    Why I am pro-Macron:

“Macron’s outreach to Russia part of his De Gaulle-like plan to free France & EU partners from status as vassals of Washington”

Since 2000 I consider Putin the greatest statesman in the world, I still do, but Macron is rapidly catching up. I hope that Putin-Macron will prevail over Biden-Merkel. And of course that Trump will become president of the Red States, to team up with continental Europe.

In history geopolitical success follows early adoption of new energy sources. If you want to know why after the US empire, Europe is going to be the new (=old) #1, read this:

    “European Hydrogen Backbone”

Very difficult to achieve compared to natural gas. If it is pressurised, it will leak because of its very small molecular radius. At any pressure, H2 gas has 1/3rd the energy density of methane. So it is something that should be consumed locally, rather than shipped.

“Repugs have long been the party of big business, but lately their leaders have learned how to appeal to the less-educated rural and evangelical populace by harping on hot-button issues like abortion and gun rights, while continuing to benefit the super-rich by cutting taxes and gutting financial and environmental regulations.”

“Gaseous hydrogen can be transported through pipelines much the way natural gas is today. Approximately 1,600 miles of hydrogen pipelines are currently operating in the United States. … Transporting gaseous hydrogen via existing pipelines is a low-cost option for delivering large volumes of hydrogen.”

I am pretty sure that professional gas infrastructure companies know what they are doing.

There was talk of retrofitting existing pipelines, not just plain reuse.

“I am pretty sure that professional gas infrastructure companies know what they are doing.

There was talk of retrofitting existing pipelines, not just plain reuse.”

I am sure they do. But my point is that it will be much more expensive. Remember Town Gas? That was mostly hydrogen with a few other things mixed in. It was piped at low pressure, only slightly above atmosphere. It had to be to prevent hydrogen diffusion, which would have led to explosion. That means two things.

Firstly, the energy density is about 12.5MJ/m3, which about one third of natural gas at atmospheric pressure.

Secondly, with such low pressure in the pipe, there can be very little pressure drop between the point of supply and the point of use. That means low flow rates.

Both of these things point to one outcome – large diameter pipes needed. This is why town gas was not shipped over long distances. Each town had its own gas works, hence the name. It wouldn’t have been impossible for the gas to have been shipped long distances. It just wasn’t economically attractive. The same problem probably applies to the hydrogen network you referenced. It would be much better to use it locally.

Nonsense. Trump is a populist politician, not a revolutionary. Had he wanted to start a revolution, he had the perfect opportunity to address the 1million crowd that gathered in Washington and have his people build networks. Instead, he drove off and played golf. Trying to dress him up as some kind of 3rd world dictator is disingenuous.

Duncan Idaho, the board resident lefty, clearly has little in the way of political understanding. He is spiteful against anyone that doesn’t share his point of view.

Dominion Voting ‘Lawyers Up’ Before Abruptly Backing Out Of Pennsylvania Fact-Finding Hearing

Dominion Voting Systems Thursday night abruptly backed out of attending a fact-finding hearing that was set for Friday morning with the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee.

At a press conference Friday morning, State Govt Committee Chair Seth Grove said the 1.3. million Pennsylvanians who used Dominion’s voting machines have been “hung out to dry and slapped in their faces.”

    “Remember Town Gas?”

I do personally from the early 60s, this one:

I doubt if technology that is 100-60 year old is still relevant today.

“It would be much better to use it locally.”

The hydrogen backbone is planned to be completed in 2040. The structure will begin in the Netherlands, here the planned situation in 2030:

Reason why it begins in the Netherlands: the Netherlands has potentially 50 GW offshore wind reserves, where it consumes “merely” 13 GW on average. And there is already a lot of solar, wind and biomass onshore. So the Netherlands has a lot of spare hydrogen it can generate and sell all over Europe. With an average EU electricity consumption of 300 GW, that’s 16%. That’s where the backbone comes in. Add Denmark, Germany, France, Spain as potential suppliers as well.

People can survive on 1 or 2 meals a days. All countries can get rid of pesticides. For an example, insects are a great source of protein, calcium and otherwise nutrients. Humans are omnivores.

So what this UN official is saying is that if the world hadn’t shut down economies and trade for months (for hysteria and overreaction) there would be no “biblical famines?” Or instead is this UN hotshot fear mongering for more fiat money donations from the Fed?

part 1 – remarkable how this site tolerates page after page of written garbage, but coherent posts end up in the memory hole for reasons unknown. 3 links?

“People can survive on 1 or 2 meals a days.”

Even better, people THRIVE on 1-2 meals a day. 3 meals a day is the foundation of the current BMI30 disaster, now even happening in Africa:

“Obesity in Africa: A looming health catastrophe”

The pig farm principle, namely that animals will eat ALL food that is presented to them, now applies to large numbers of humans as well. There is TOO MUCH food! We can no longer rely on our instincts, we must use our brains to limit eating, just like we use our brains to limit boozing and smoking. Eating, like boozing and smoking is massive comfort. You need to toughen up in order to get healthy again.

Here is a perfect book/site that explains our situation and what you can about it. I have adopted the new food regime described in it:

  23. Abraham van Helsing on Sat, 21st Nov 2020 3:18 am

    part 2

Summary: processed carbs (wheat, bread, cakes, pasta, pizzas, potatoes) and sugar are killers. There is nothing wrong with fat. Use your brain to set the optimal weight target of BMI21 and derive your eating pattern from that.

Old school: 3*7 = 21 meals per week
New school: 9 meals a week

On mon, tue, thu 1 meal.
On wed, fri, sat 2 meals
    On sun fasting (no meals)

In order to keep socializing, 2 meals per week can be “unhealthy” (pizza, Thai, fries, etc.)

It will take you 12 weeks to lose 10+ kg to arrive at BMI21 and push yourself out of the eating comfort zone and adapt to the new regime. I have done it.

Here is the book, can only recommend it. Essentially keto, but after 12 weeks you can relax the keto and eat for instance more fruit:

“Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Is Idiotic And Immoral”

“the metamorphosis of America’s ivory tower into something closely approximating a fifth column was well underway. But the situation has, in recent decades, worsened; it has metastasized into a cancer whose tendrils spread the latest faddish developments in intersectional, anti-American, anti-Western “woke-ism” all throughout the land. It is both terrifying and perverse that America’s intellectual gatekeepers—the “elite”-forming, credentialing institutions that separate the “deplorables” from the ruling class—impress self-loathing pablum upon impressionable young minds. With some notable exceptions, American higher education today comprises madrasas of wokeness fundamentally hostile to the American regime and the American way of life. Many of the far left’s most toxic ideas, whether moral relativism, socialism, “anti-racism” or multiculturalism, either begin on campus or gain steam there. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that one of the more popular policies in conservative egghead circles today is to expand loan access to, and accreditation support for, trade school alternatives to traditional four-year bachelor’s degree-granting programs… Intellectual bankruptcy notwithstanding, there are manifold more tangible problems associated with the failed higher education status quo. Four years spent on campus between the ages of 18 and 22 means four prime years forgone from acquiring vocational skills, advancing a career, and mating and forming families. It also often means, due in part to the federal government’s effective monopoly over the student loan industry, four years of willful indebtedness to major in such patently silly “subjects” as “gender studies.”… The modern Democratic Party is heavily reliant on woke college graduates for political support, and many on the left have warmed in recent years to large-scale student loan “forgiveness” (at least as a halfway measure, compared to the far left’s support for universal free college). Most recently, the likely incoming president, Democrat Joe Biden, has called for “immediate” forgiveness of $10,000 of student loan debt for borrowers. This policy is idiotic in the extreme and brazenly immoral. Republicans and sensible Democrats must unite to defeat it. The higher education-student loan complex is in desperate need of more transparency and accountability—not more bailouts. A prudent first step would be for creditors, whether public or (ideally) private, to present clear information about salaries and career paths for graduating high school seniors to consider before they commit to taking out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans to major in “ethnic studies.”… American higher education needs a wrecking ball—not a bailout.”

“Cloggie, are you fat? cause talking about it means you are probably sitting on your ass too much”

Not really. But despite 3-5 visits/week to a fitness for years on end, I never managed to get below 90 kg and BMI25 and discovered the hard way that calorie counting doesn’t work. If calorie counting would be valid, I should have had a negative weight by

Thanks to the book I now DO understand why and now regulate my weight is as easy as regulating the volume on a HIFI device (hint: hormones need to be considered).

I now know that you can lose 10 kg in 12 weeks by simply staying in bed. Secret: 1-2 meals per day, ZERO snacks (absolutely nothing) and if you have to eat 2 meals, do it as close as possible, like 13:00 and 18:00 and increase the fast-span, in this case 18:00-13:00 = 19 hours not eating. And one day fast (18:00 – 13:00 = 43 hours).

With this recipe you can navigate to any weight you want, using the volume of your meal and amount of time spent on fasting as control parameters.

My BMI is now 22.7 and aim for 21.0 before Christmas. My blood pressure lowered to 115-75 average over the past 30 days as a result.

“DR MICHAEL MOSLEY: Why won’t the NHS tell you the secret to treating diabetes is losing weight? (Clue: Because it costs nothing) ”

The entire western “health system” is a “conspiracy” between doctors, hospitals and pharmaceutical enterprises to keep you dependent on them. If you are healthy, they can’t make money from you.

Although I have ZERO evidence, I wouldn’t be surprised if Covid was released by pharmaceutical companies. I certainly would add them to the potential list of suspects.
