‘HOSTILE ACT’ Iran seizes British oil tanker in the Gulf with 23 crew

A BRITISH-flagged Swedish owned tanker has been seized by Iran and is heading for the Revolutionary Guard base at Qeshm Island.

Northern Marine, a subsidiary of Stena AB, confirmed “hostile action” had occurred before the tanker Stena Impero changed its course this afternoon.

A total of 23 crew members were on board.

The Foreign Office is “urgently seeking” further information after reports said it turned into Iranian waters.

Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt is believed to have been briefed on the incident in the Gulf.

A statement from the ship’s owner and management firm said: “Stena Bulk and Northern Marine Management can confirm that at approximately 1600 BST on 19th July UK registered vessel Stena Impero was approached by unidentified small crafts and a helicopter during transit of the Strait of Hormuz while the vessel was in international waters.

“We are presently unable to contact the vessel which is now heading north towards Iran.

“There are 23 seafarers aboard. There have been no reported injuries and their safety is of primary concern to both owners and managers.

“The priority of both vessel owner Stena Bulk and ship manager Northern Marine Management is the safety and welfare of the crew.”

Just a few days ago Iran’s supreme leader had threatened Britain with retaliation over what he described as the “vicious” seizure of an Iranian oil tanker near Gibraltar by UK forces.

Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused Britain of “piracy” after the Royal Marines seized a supertanker believed to be carrying Iranian crude oil to Syria on July 4.

7

He has called for the immediate release of the oil tanker Grace 1, which was detained on suspicion it was breaking European sanctions by taking oil to Syria.

In a TV speech, the Ayatollah said: “Evil Britain commits piracy and steals our ship and gives it a legal appearance.

“Iran and those who believe in our system will not leave such vicious deeds unanswered.”

An Iranian bomb boat was found in the path of a British warship racing to the Gulf just two days ago.

HMS Duncan could have been destroyed by the unmanned attack ship packed with explosives, according to reports.

It comes as the UK is sending three ships to the Gulf.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard also seized another oil tanker on Sunday, the Panama-flagged MT Riah.

The country later released a video showing the troops in speedboats seizing the tanker along with 12 members which it accused of smuggling oil.

The unverified video shows the moment two speedboats circulating the Panama-flagged MT Riah.

The foreign oil tanker was reportedly then seized shortly after being surrounded in stormy waters.

In fact, Iranians nabbed one one but two UK tankers. Both in a matter of hours of each other.

Looks like they want the Brits to release one of their own oil ships arrested last month.

I see this as teasing not all out provocations.
No oil or red blood has been shed.

Note that these captures were done with an entire armada of Navy vessels on station.

If, If, Trump decides to place an ’embargo’ on all Iranian oil exports, then, that’s Not going to lead to a peaceful outcome. (involving Russia and China)

    Iran, the new 1939-Poland.

No doubt feels emboldened by tacit support from China, Russia and Turkey.

    Poor KSA.

Be nice to Russia, Europe, as you will need Russian oil and gas to make for the upcoming loss from the Gulf.

Cloggie, Trump could not be nicer to Russia w/o facing impeachment.

It was 2011 Syria, not 1937 Spain or 1939 Poland that sparked this current 21st century, Devil’s Brew.

Add; oil, religion, national and all the other ‘isms’
into a pot already stirred by overpopulation, (migration),climate change, (food shortages), drought, flooding) it’s an evil brew ha ha get get.

An all out war will make everything far worse.
Americans, since our Civil War haven’t felt the full force of war’s destruction. During our past three major wars (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq) it was BAU across America.

Unlike Europe, Africa and Asia, North Americans have yet to live under a dictatorship. Before today, never endured a president who can muster 40% of the population ready to overthrow rules of law.
Willing to destroy democracy in order to ‘keep order’.

An all out world war I fear, is just the distraction Our Dear Leader seeks at this most dangerous period in America’s modern legal history.

As I often say, “It’s always about oil”. I’ll add,
“more than a pinch Climate Change’.

The US knows what will happen (not a Carrier within striking distance– don’t want to lose 5000 men and women).
With KSA complete destruction only 15 min from Iran, and a world wide depression on tap, even the Fat Boy knows the result.

  5. Anonymous on Fri, 19th Jul 2019 4:59 pm

I’m not up to speed on the details, but if we seize their tankers, why shouldn’t they sink ours?

Also is there anybody who still thinks those limpet mines weren’t placed by Iranians.

“American Race Hustle” Is A Sure-Loser For Dems; Kunstler Warns Of “Walking Time-Bomb” Epstein
Profile picture for user Tyler Durden
    by Tyler Durden
    Fri, 07/19/2019 – 17:20
Authored by James Howard Kunstler via Kunstler.com,

And so the four horsepeople-of-color arise, at once the glorious avatars of Wokesterdom in all their incendiary wrath, and the butt of ridicule among a pretty big chunk of everybody else in this land. I speak of congresswomen Omar, Tlaib, Pressley, and AOC, a.k.a. “the Squad,” riding a reconn mission to the precipice of that great cliff of electoral catastrophe – in advance of the political party that is apt to follow them over the edge in 2020, like so many suicidal lemmings.

    source

Charges of “racism” have been twanging around the Federal District all week as if a throng of medieval re-enactors had taken over the place and were putting on a colorful pageant about ergot poisoning, with the townspeople afflicted by creeping incubi, crawling succubi, winged demons, murderous furies, and other agents of Satan. I have often noted that our president is the genuine article of a supernatural figure himself, being both a Golden Golem of Greatness and a Twitter troll of the highest degree. Last week, the four Squad gals pointed their fingers and ululated at him — “racist! racist! —expecting perhaps that a bolt from on-high might strike him dead, but it only prompted him to more keyboard villainy, challenging them to fly back to whatever infernal hellhole they came out of. For three of them it was the good ol’ USA, parts of which are, let’s face it, rather hellhole-ish these days.

    source

The American race hustle is getting kind of old and it’s a sure loser for the Democratic Party. Why they can’t move beyond it and engage with the many other mighty matters of our time is one of those abiding mysteries of life, like why the birdies sing, or why the Mets can’t get decent relief pitching. I daresay that in my lifetime this country has bent over backwards to assist, accommodate, and uplift the demographic that styles itself nowadays as people-of-color. None of that has managed to abolish significant economic inequality. But, really, what else can be done? Spend trillions more promoting fatherless households? (The Wokesters might like that, seeing as how much they detest people of the male persuasion.)

The main “ask” these days is to allow Mexicans and Central Americans to cross the border as they please and receive a menu of benefits provided gratis by the US government, and thus from US taxpayers. The arguments for that from Wokesterdom range from bad faith to completely insane, yet they are now being retailed at the highest level of presidential election politics. Every candidate in the first Democratic “debate” raised a hand in favor of providing free medical care to illegal border-jumpers. I wonder how that sits with the Americans who now pay $12,000 a year for health insurance with a $5,000 deductible.

Of course, this policy of unfettered illegal immigration does not economically favor the sizable demographic of poor Americans, many of whom are people-of-color. In theory, the border-jumpers are taking away an awful lot of jobs. But I think the argument there is that 300 years of slavery gives bonafide US citizens-of-color a pass on manual labor – so it is not against their interests to ally with the open border advocates – while both groups have an interest in getting any free stuff the government may offer.

    part2

The white liberal masochists allied with this crusade, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, may have reached their own red-line for pain and suffering under the reigning twisted thought-regime. Last week, AOC attempted to tar Madame Pelosi as a “racist.” The day will come — if it has not already — when Madame P will have to usher the Squad into the House cloakroom and tune-up each member with thirty inches of re-bar, good and hard.

The Squad, meanwhile, is giving aid and comfort to the shock troops of Wokesterdom, the AntiFas, a devoted member of which last week attempted to shoot up and firebomb an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Tacoma. The perp, one Willem Van Spronsen, 69, was gunned down for his trouble, but left a “manifesto” detailing his allegiance to the Wokester party line. Another Wokester gang in Aurora, Colorado, marched on an ICE building, took down the US flag, and raised the flag of Mexico. Bad optics, I’d say. Imagine how the video footage of that will play in Michigan and Pennsylvania when election season rolls around.

Also meanwhile, the party’s pathetic attempt to revive the walking dead narrative of RussiaGate is not working too well down on Jerold Nadler’s House Judiciary Committee. The chairman apparently discovered that his star witness, Robert Mueller, might have to answer some embarrassing questions about the conduct of his investigation — like, why did it go on for two years when his chief deputy, Mr. Weissmann, was informed from the get-go that the main predicate document was a fraud? So, Mr. Mueller’s turn in the witness chair keeps getting postponed clear into the August recess. I doubt the former Special Counsel will ever sit in that hot-seat. If I was him, I sure wouldn’t do it voluntarily. Oh, did anyone notice the House staged an impeachment vote on Wednesday? It flopped too.

    source

Finally, there is the walking time-bomb known as Jeffrey Epstein, Democratic Party poohbah and impresario of an underage sex racket featuring the “Lolita Express” airplane service to his private “Orgy Island” in the Caribbean, with auxiliary party shacks in New York City and the New Mexico Desert. Rogue reports have been styling Epstein’s doings as an international blackmailing operation associated with the CIA and other Intel outfits, including the UK’s MI6 and Israel’s Mossad, for the purpose of keeping international bigshots on a short leash. Who knows? At the center of it all is former President Bill Clinton, listed twenty-six times on the Lolita Express’s flight manifest — though the ex-Prez said last week in a statement that it was only four times. (Consider the source.)

A raft of unsealed documents in the matter has been court-ordered to drop any day, and power-players all over the world — especially in our nation’s capital and on Wall Street — are rumored to be chewing their fingernails down to the nubbins as they wait for it.

What a cargo of wickedness is borne by the garbage barge called the Democratic Party as it chugs out to sea toward a sickening, slightly radioactive orange sunset for what is looking like its final voyage.

  8. Duncan Idaho on Fri, 19th Jul 2019 6:38 pm

“The IRGC let the ‘Mesdar’ go after reminding her of the relevant rules. The ship has turned southwest to continue its planned voyage.”

So they let the second ship go.
They just wanted the British one—

I have been a seriously depressed realist since I have a memory. My first memory of my life is of leaning against a tree alone in my kindergarten’s playground looking at all the other kids playing, thinking how stupid their behavior was, and wondering why I wasn’t like them. I basically don’t interact with normal people anymore. They have nothing to offer me and I don’t want to give them anything.

July 16: Ali Khamenei called the seizure of the Grace 1 tanker “piracy” and vowed to retaliate.

He said: “God willing, the Islamic Republic and its committed forces will not leave this evilness without a response.”

…from Gibraltar. One more reason for Spain (with tacit support from the EU, Russia and China) to take the rock back and declare the Meditarrenean and Black Sea a no-go area for Anglo and Chinese naval vessels.

Only EU and Russian navies should have access.

“The crisis in the Gulf is almost entirely the result of President Trump’s decision to sabotage the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran – a major achievement not just of his predecessor President Obama but five major powers, including the UK, which were fellow signatories. Trump withdrew even though Iran had scrupulously observed the letter of that accord.”

Hormuz: 20% world oil, 33% world LNG.

If Iran decides to close the tap, nobody can do anything about it. Iran can always launch missiles from deep within Iran, even in the unlikely case if the entire Iranian coast would be occupied by US forces. Saudi refineries can also be hit.

I say, bring it on Iran, it would only hasten the end of the oil age and it would drive US-vassals in Europe straight into the arms of Moscow, where every alt-righter wants Europe to be.

Yes, it would bring about a global recession, but that’s OK. Europe needs to prepare for war and liberate itself from empire, not the next Black Friday. The recession would precisely generate the anti-Anglo hatred in Europe required to finally get rid of them.

The election of Ursula von der Leyen (who is fluent in French) as EU-commission president is seen in France as a huge success for Macron, as she was his candidate, probably the greatest europhile in Germany.

She supports Macron’s idea of a European army, as well as far-reaching European integration (“USE”), two projects that were always vehemently blocked by Britain, but that are now enabled by God-send Brexit.

While US+UK are fighting it out against Russian-Chinese proxy Iran, Europe can create massive geopolitical facts after Brexit in all quiet. Even after Brexit, Europe will still have 440 million citizens, where the US merely has 197 million, more than twice as much.

Scottish independence was rejected 55-45 by the Scottish. But that was before the Brexit vote. Scotland opposes Brexit 62-38.

A June poll revealed that if BoJo would become PM (as happened earlier today), 53% would be in favor of Scottish independence.

    Poll:
