September 2020: 411.29 ppm
September 2019: 408.54 ppm

I should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, design a building, write, balance accounts, build a wall, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, pitch manure, program a computer, cook, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Coronavirus had bigger impact on CO2 emissions than Second World War, study reveals -independent
An international team of researchers has found that in the first six months of this year, 8.8 per cent less carbon dioxide was emitted than in the same period in 2019 — a total decrease of 1.5 billion tons.

Considering how many ships were blown up at sea with their fuel and or oil cargo burning on top of the water I would expect that WW2 was a carbon plus not a minus.

Lest we forget there were also major cities like Dresden and Tokyo fire storms that released all the stored carbon in the form of structures with wooden components, plus forest fires not being fought, plus military equipment, plus massive increased industrial output in North America as both Canada and the USA went to a war production schedule including building new industry and operating existing industrial plants 24/7/365 and so on and so forth. We basically went from a tiny air industry to sending thousand bomber flights over both Europe and Japan, massively expanded the merchant marine to ship goods and people all over the globe and to top it all off had to move workers from home to industry and back every shift.
