ETP hmm
After a decade of unprecedented growth and seemingly endless investments, the writing is now on the wall: the Great American Shale Boom is slowing down and this could have some grave consequences both the industry and the financial markets.

And a poor one at that, which has been pointed out countless times over the years.

According to the Happy McPeakster sources, it was never supposed to start. Then, it wasn't supposed to be a big deal. Then it peaked and declined and Happy McPeaksters wet themselves. Then it went from decline to growth. Again. And created Saudi America. So now growth is slowing down?

Well, peak oil demand is going to require less, so let's hear it for the US not creating a glut situation at exactly the right moment.

"Oil minister said Iraq and other countries would support more cuts by 400,000 barrels to 1.6 million barrels a day

“All countries should share and no country should take that [alone],” Mr. Ghadhban said. “It has been calculated that 1.2 [million barrels a day] has not been enough so there’s an additional cut required…and 1.6 was one of the alternatives discussed last year.”

The Saudi Arabia-led OPEC cartel is set to meet with a 10-nation coalition led by Russia on Dec. 5 and 6 in Vienna to debate to extend a pact to curb production by 1.2 million barrels a day beyond the agreed end of March 2020."

There are riots in Iraq.

When Iraq, under heavy sanctions from the US, is like the whole world, PLEASE be sure and get back to us.

In the mean time, your hobby of pointing to one place in the world where there are currently riots, and pretending that foretells doom generally doesn't pass the laugh test now any more than it ever did. 8O
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

Permanent shitholes all of them (except France, which is becoming that way due to immigration). At any rate, none of these riots revolve around peak-oil let alone ETP.

Ever been to any of them? I doubt it. Lebanon was once an amazing place and still there are parts that are very beautiful. Algeria is a huge country and there are some very amazing places in the cities such as Algiers, in desert towns such as Tamanranset, and in the country side (the Grand Erg is immense and truly beautiful and the Tassili N'jerr is an incredible place). The Sudan is absolutely nothing like what you have read. The history is amazing with pyramids at Meor that are similar age to the old pyramids in Egypt at Saquarha, and the people are very friendly, honest and hardworking.

I will simply write up your claim to racist nonsense.

The middle-east is always aflame with riots. That's just a fact that can't be shrugged off with SJW/NPC name-calling. You're gonna have to do better to prove that these riots are indicative of the leading edge of TEOTWAWKI. ...or we can just wait, and wait, and wait for TEOTWAWKI to happen while BAU continues apace, which is how these claims always get debunked.

Always? Hardly. I travelled back and forth with prolonged stays for many years to Algeria, Sudan, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Egypt. I think in all those years I witnessed one riot in Cairo that lasted all of 15 minutes. I must have been to Tunis 20 times in the years leading up to the Arab Spring and it was extremely peaceful, safe and a very beautiful place with towns like Sidi Bou Said that are hardly different than any small town on the European Mediterranean. There are occasional riots in US, just this year in Portland and in Charlottesville, Portland and Berkeley in 2017. Arguably there have been way more riots over the years across the US than there ever were in Tunisia or Egypt or other Middle East Countries. Under your definition this would make the US a "permanent shithole".

As to your nonsense characterization of your obviously racist declaration....grow a pair. If you want to make racist statements and claims at least own them.

Well, maybe not constant "riots" per se, but history certainly doesn't show the Middle east over the past century plus to be anything REMOTELY peaceful.

And I notice a LOT of these conflicts seem to be called revolutions or rebellions. And revolution and rebellion and riot seem to have more than a passing resemblance, via their respective definitions including words like "violence" or "forcible".

So there's that.

Perhaps the issue is mostly semantics? Time scales?

There is only one human race.

On average people south of the Mediterranean have and IQ of 85.
On average people north of the Mediterranean have an IQ of 100.

They have the same architecture...but their living standard is very different.

On average the the people in the U.S have an IQ of 100. The Jews in the U.S have on average an IQ of 115.

The Jews in Israel have an IQ of 105 on average...which only prove one thing...that the dumb fuckers decided to move to a hostile desert when they could have moved to the U.S.

Yeah right, I'm sure there are a lot of people in the Maghreb or even rural South Africa who signed up for an IQ test. What a load of BS.
Explain these folks with that bit of nonsense:

Ahmed Zewail Egyptian scientist awarded the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Rachid Yazami a Moroccan scientist who was broke ground in the research on lithium ion batteries

Sossina Haile Ethiopian professor of Materials Sciences at Caltech

Wangari Maathai Kenyan environmental activist who won the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize

Christiaan Barnard South African cardiac surgeon who performed the very first human heart transplant

Ismail El Gizouli Sudanese acting president of the IPCC

Mamoun Beheiry Sudanese and president of the African Development Bank

Allan Cormack and Godfrey Hounsfield South Africans who invented the CAT Scan

Dr Margaret Mungherera Ugandan psychiatrist who became the first female president of the World Medical Association

Bernie Fanaroff South African who established the Fanaroff-Riley classification of radio galaxies and quasars

Abraham Adelstein a South African born doctor who became the UK’s Chief Medical Statistician

Sydney Brenner a South African biologist who shared the 2002 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work on molecular biology and the genetic code.

and that is a mere snapshot.

You obviously weren't around when Monte was running the joint. And just because your point of view is taking quite a beating since peak oil didn't pan out as planned, and the backup plan of pimping etp nonsense was disavowed by its own author to riotous laughter, so sure, it's been a rough few years.

You can say the same thing about Europe over the same time scale can you not? Two massive military conflicts that tore up everything from Atlantic to the Urals. A very long list of civil disturbances most people would call riots in different cities at different times for a long variety of stated reasons. A civil war in the Balkans that killed a large number of civilians because they had a disagreement with other civilians over how to practice their religion. Overthrows and revolts in eastern Europe in the 1990's as the Communist system fell apart. A coupe de tet in Ukraine fostered by the USA/EU that lead to a proxy war with Russia and the loss of Crimea.

In reality riots, revolutions and wars tend to be short lived events, and they go on all over the world somewhere at any given chunk of time. Even places like Somalia where the government collapsed and old tribal hatreds rose to the forte with modern weapons only took a decade to burn itself out. Somalia today is vastly more peaceful than Somalia in 1992-95 the same way Cuba today is vastly more peaceful than Cuba in 1959-62.

The media is all about ghastly headlines to draw attention so they can sell advertising. When they do it with a culture that is completely alien to you and a region that sells the lifeblood of industrial civilization the impression you are left with is chaos and unending trouble, but that is a false image.
I should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, design a building, write, balance accounts, build a wall, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, pitch manure, program a computer, cook, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

.

It proves two things; a diet of cactus is probably not going increase your IQ. Environment and social conditions appear to have as much impact on intelligence as genetic propensities. Then there is Africa! If the human race did originate out of Africa, it is amazing that we have made it as far as we have. It would be proof positive that humanity didn't climb down out of the trees; it fell out. We appear to be trying constantly to get back up.
