Aleppo , Mosul , the tale of two cities

Taking a large build up city , defended by a determined opponent is no joke , just ask the shade of Paulus .

the cost in ordinance and lives can be daunting ,
the least worst strategy is to cut the supply lines to create a shortage of food, reinforcement and ammunition
then intensifies the fighting all around the perimeter to the point of degrading the defenders forces

In Aleppo , the Syrian Army with Russian air support is doing this , it's hard going .
In Mosul , the Iraqi Army with US air support will start soon , they have been preparing for months now .

two cities , same problem , we can just sit back and observe both operation

My guess is that as soon as the hard fighting start in Mosul , all the fine words about being nice will evaporate

How about west Aleppo vs. east Aleppo? When al-Nusra shells civilians in west Aleppo the NATO mass media says nothing and some BBC f*cks even tell people to go read Syrian media sources if they want coverage.

How about Aleppo in 2013 vs. east Aleppo today? When al-Nusra and pals were grabbing parts of the city and killing civilians (by conducting a ground war in a city) the NATO mass media was all clinical and detached reporting a few suicide bombings here and there. No gushing of feelings and concern for the children of Aleppo when the US sponsored terrorists are doing the killing.

How about Fallujah?

The best observers here on the outside can do is to look at over arching facts. ISIS has been driven out of much of Syria and Aleppo. How this was accomplished is in dispute, but we know the USA and her terror allies on the ground were completely ineffective for several years. We also know that Russia and the Syrian national army have been both claiming advances and actually making advances especially over the last 18 months.

Everything else is speculation or propaganda.

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

"The Iraqi government is preparing an offensive against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in the country's second biggest city, Mosul.
The Iraqi army and Sunni tribal fighters are expected to take on ISIL in the coming days, with the US-led coalition providing them with air support."

The Pentagon released this clip about mega-cities environment , as mentioned in the Peak Oil News
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEPdOZbyzbw

it highlight the fact that , while urban combat is not new , mega-cities create through their sheer size
a mutation into something unprecedented , a whole new environment !
It mention the two basic approaches used until then ,
isolate and starve or overpower by assault .
there is the suspicion that with mega-cities ,neither would work ,
too large to be surrounded , too vast to be conquered .

US-led coalition aircraft have for the first time carried out an airlift of allied fighters battling the jihadist group Islamic State (IS) in Syria.

Kurdish forces enter Tabaqa Airbase in western Raqqa
By Leith Fadel - 26/03/2017

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/ku ... ern-raqqa/

the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) entered the Tabaqa Airbase in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, Kurdish activists reported this evening.

If true, the Syrian Democratic Forces would be the first group to enter this strategic Airbase since the Islamic State (ISIL) took control of the installation in August of 2014.

When ISIL took control of the Airbase, they subsequently massacred 200 Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers after marching them across the desert area near this military installation.

SDF celebrating full Victory over ISIS in Tabaqa air base
Image
https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/br ... -province/

In addition, the US-backed SDF also liberated the desert villages of Abu Rashid and Al-Ajil on the perimeter of Tabqa Airbase.

Kurdish forces are now set to encircle Tabqa city with overwhelming US air support. Meanwhile, ISIS claims US sorties are on the verge of destroying the adjacent Tabqa Dam.

Subsequently, the People’s Protection Units (YPG) celebrated the victory in traditional Kurdish manner by dancing inside the newly liberated airbase...

The jihadis have staged another false flag chemical attack in coordination with US, UK, and EU governments who are posturing at the UN trying to pin this on Assad when it is clear that it was staged operation:

1) The white helmet jihadis have produced video and photos of themselves engaged in rescue operations wearing only face masks. Sarin is a skin contact poison and they need protective suits to survive if they arrive on the scene shortly after the attack.

https://twitter.com/Partisangirl/status ... 1275659264

2) The dead children have clear evidence of bludgeoning injuries on their heads and necks. There is no way these are sarin wounds since they have no caustic gas damage morphology and sarin is not mustard gas. It is more like a nerve agent. These injuries are serious evidence that the children were murdered and used as props for this hoax. This is in no way an excluded scenario since the jihadis consider Christians and Alawites as worthy of extermination. You can see calls for their mass murder even on Al Jazeera.

https://twitter.com/Partisangirl/status ... 2241039360

3) Jihadis and jihadi lovers were announcing a major incident on Twitter and other social media before it happened.

https://twitter.com/Partisangirl/status ... 1305693184

4) The one-note chorus spin from the NATO mass media that Assad did it, is a type of proof that this was a false flag. There is no way anyone can see a clear line of responsibility this quickly, especially given all the evidence pointing in another direction.

Hey Dissident, please don't take offense, but are you one of those "thousands" of Russian social media trolls, the MSM have been screaming about? Just curious.

Don't get me wrong, you are ALWAYS one of my favorite reads. At the very least, you certainly raise my critical thinking skills. Your comments are always lucid and well thought out. As a matter of fact we agree on LOTS of stuff.

Like you, I think this whole Chem Weapons thing does not ring true. I can see NO advantage to Asad for using chem weapons at this point in time. The current Russian story, seems the most credible at the moment. Although your False Flag hypothesis is certainly intriguing.....

Your question comes from cognitive dissonance. Anyone who is not running with the herd of media-fed lemmings must be some "agent of a foreign" power. My link to Russia and Ukraine is that I have relatives there and I left the USSR during the 1970s. At least I have access to information that clearly contradicts the information bubble being maintained by the western media. They don't lie to you about events at home, but they spew 100% tin foil hat conspiracy theories about Russia.

The western media has zero credibility. They did not cover the massive protests against the 2003 Iraq invasion. Three million people demonstrated against it in Rome alone. Yet they screech that some protest of 20,000 in Moscow is epic in scale. That city has over 17 million residents. CNN and pals described the March 2, 2014 massacre of unarmed protestors who were herded into the Trade Union building in Odessa and burned alive as "some people died in a fire". Those that tried to escape by jumping through windows were beaten to death. Then you bitches whine about Russian meddling after you stage regime change coups around the world.

Maybe you should ask the question to yourself why you still believe that your government and media represent any sort of normalcy and are not a freak show. I get riled up by the brazen, bloody lies and hypocrisy from a collection of mass murdering war criminals posing as agents of goodness and the guiding light of humanity. You call this paid trolling. This makes you an accomplice to the butchers.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-0 ... ria-policy

So Trump has officially drank the koolaid. His neocon bosses will not get their way in Syria. Russia is fighting the long war against the Wahabbi plague and will not retreat to have terrorist nests installed on its borders.

I am being called a Kremlin troll when pointing out the obvious nonsense of instant guilt attribution. How the f*ck do any of you credulous clowns know who did it. Because some "award winning" white helmet jihadi told you? Where is the investigation. Assad does not need chemical weapons since he is winning without them. But Washington clearly needs these obvious false flags to further its regime change agenda and de facto support for Al Qaeda.

This hard core support for Al Qaeda in Syria begs the question whether the 9/11 truthers are right.
