From VT? Worthwhile is an idea thought and published by a Republicrat, designed and worked out by a Republicrat, only succeeded because Republicrats were involved and funded it, and while succeeding also managed to own the Democans because they were to lazy, stupid and honest to see what a wonderful idea it was. This would be pretty worthwhile to VT!

Probably not.
A worthwhile idea or invention, reguardless of who comes up with it or their political leanings, that if developed and made available on commercial scales would be found useful and superior to the status quo .

If the USA were serious about Ethanol as a fuel substitute then way back in 2001 the government would have passed a regulation that all ICE vehicles from 2003 model year on would be E-70 compliant. The consumer cost for this fleet wide regulatory change would be on the close order of $70.00 to the base price of all vehicles, a number so small it disappears in the other numbers involved as inconsequential.

Brazil has had this requirement for all vehicles sold in Brazil for decades. Nobody in Brazil is incapable of buying a vehicle they would have bought otherwise as a result. Anyone in Brazil pulling up to a fueling station has a spectrum of fuel choices from E-0 to E-70 and they pick and choose based on price and individual desires.

The fact that the USA does NOT have this regulation is all the proof anyone should ever need that Ethanol fuel is not a significant priority for our government.

Ethanol in the USA is a political tool where politicians try to win the favor of Iowa voters as a start to their presidential campaigns. The science has nothing to do with it.
