This is a concise, but wide-ranging interview with climatologist/geoscientist Nick Humphrey on the climate, energy, overpopulation, etc....

I first discovered the writings of meteorologist/geoscientist Nick Humphrey with his brutally honest essay 'The Conversation No One Knows How To Have' and since then have followed his posts and comments. He has been featured or quoted in a number of publications such as Mother Jones, New York Times, Washington Post, and Science Alert. Few scientists will publicly tell you how dire things are, but Nick Humphrey is not one to shy away from the truth. What follows is a Q&A interview I held with him on a variety of questions concerning humanity’s future.

Sounds like his views jive well with Guy Mcpherson's views . Global dimming , worldwide nuclear meltdown, widespread contamination from thousands of chemicals, potable water shortages, phosphate shortages, anoexic oceans, soil erosion, biodiversity loss, pandemics are just some of the other multifaceted threats to humanity

Thanks for starting this thread and posting the link, XrayMike.

I live in central Alaska and I enjoyed reading Nick Humphrey's comments on his blog about on our ongoing extreme Arctic heatwave. Heat records are falling all over Alaska. The snow is mostly gone...six weeks early.

Next to go is the Arctic Sea ice.

Cheers!

It's "jibe", not "jive".

Note how all this is a multi-decade, or century climate process -- not financial armageddon next week?

Or is it just "all doom all the time" for you?

Outcast,

Yes it’s all in the future.

I’m missing your point.

Our life support system is propped up by ice that is now melting. The polar bear will be a good indicator species.

Our society has a problem with getting rid of waste currently. At some point, our society will be it's own waste product, to be flushed down nature's toilet of discarded life forms and the meme of our civilization will disappear that way.

Until then, full speed ahead, though.
