Heck, we don't even agree on what month it is. rocdoc insists the June issue of Nature Geoscience is the latest issue, while I'm convinced the current month is September and the September issue is the current issue.

None of which can compare to the erudite writing in IEEE Transactions on Computers, anyways.

An important speciality journal for engineers, I'm sure, but that journal has a low impact factor of only 2.9, i.e. much lower then Nature and Science.

Cheers!

for the upteenth time now I did not claim the June issue of Nature Geoscience is the latest issue .....read what I frigging said and quote properly or better yet just stop as it appears you are illiterate to the point where you can't read anything properly. You have made a giant fool of yourself here and even when made aware of that fact you just keep digging the hole deeper. Not sure what is the matter with your brain but it certainly isn't working properly.

And what is the PURPOSE of the racial difference analysis?

Probably of very little use actually.

Yes, much data has been misused in the past and suffers from reverse bias nowadays (also known as being politically correct).

Get it: You misuse it, you LOSE it!

The purpose of all the analysis of genes and how they relate to such things as disease and mental and physical abilities and so forth is to understand ourselves. That was why the Human Genome Program got funded. Then when people noticed that you could do things like associate various aspects of human health and human abilities with genetic heritage, the paywalls started to appear, or if you prefer the conspiracy theory, they kept the results from you after you paid the bill.

One early result of the HGP was the recognition that there is actually little sense to the traditional racial goupings African/Asian/European, which are based on skin pigmentation, which is hardly relevant. The HGP disclosed that there are actually between seven and twenty-odd races depending upon how high you set the number of distinct genetic differences that determine a "race" of humans. These "races" resulted from geographically isolated groups of humans as the mutations accumulated. Nowadays humans travel so much that such groupings are rapidly blurring togather in the merry mixing of genes.

??????

Most scientific research isn't of immediate use, but over time the growth in scientific information has helped to create the modern technological society we see around us.

We're about to see a huge scientific revolution in human biology and medicine coming directly from the DNA research done during the human genome project and similar DNA studies.

If we're going to start editing genes to edit out genetic diseases and create stronger and smarter and "better" people, we sure as hell had better learn as much as possible about DNA and what it does before we start messing around with DNA.

Cheers!
