THE Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Thread Pt. 7

So you take a two month break, then come back just to spread this idiotic blather. We all understand the science now too well to not think this as anything but utter drivel. Try taking a break for another few months and see if you can come back with something a bit better, maybe at least a bit more entertaining perhaps, if you can't muster actually coherent argumentation and cogent observation.

Thanks,

:-D :-D

Well, that's not particularly good news for my ambition to live to see 500 ppm. I guess I'll just have to hope for the methane clathrates to speed things up.

Sorry, I know you take these things seriously, but by now it should be obvious that we're never going to do anything except dig up and burn everything that can be dug up and burned. All that's left is to find a good place for the lawn chair, have plenty of popcorn and beer on hand, and enjoy the show.

Never fear, diemos. We will probably settle at a rate a bit higher than that, since levels were 'artificially' elevated last year from Nino and 'artificially' reduced this year by his sister, the rate this year will be kind of a low blip on a long term steadily rising rate of increase, especially given that we seem to have started increasing the rate of emissions, after a few years of an apparent plateau.

Oh, and diemos, we are probably either approaching or just past 500 ppm if you count CO2 equivalents, including methane, depending on whose global warming equivalence numbers you use for methane.

Thanks, as always, to T for keeping us all abreast of these, the most important numbers on the planet!

Thanks as always for these updates, T.

Are you seeing any noteworthy patterns for this time of year?

So far everything is within the bounds I have grown used to seeing in the data as it comes in, nothing remarkable.
