Was just mentioned by weatherman, now gone quiet, apparently it disappeared then reappeared up the motorway, I assume M6!!!

Yep. There's been several in the last few weeks, I don't ever remember them being that common or causing so much damage. Everything always seems flooded as well now.

yeah, it flooded here earlier this month, well just up the road.

It only lasted minutes but shops, houses and factories got a soaking.

Its gone really humid here now too, maybe imaginig this now but it was definitely fresher about 2 hours ago.

Hmmm... I wonder which religion will be chosen to get 'hit' by a tornado next.

Our weather is also quite wierd this year.

Crazy number of big storms this early in the season.

Unless we stop burning the stuff ... there will be more. KYAGB!!!!

I live in central California USA. This last spring we had
numerous funnel clouds that touched down. Very unusual for
here. The media made a circus out of it although little actual
damage occurred.

We had an unusually wet winter and very heavy snow pack
in our Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. Our water runoff for
hydroelectric power (1/3 the source of Pacific Gas/Electric)
electricity was exceptionally good as a result.I am convinced the
tremendous hydropower helped evert rolling blackouts in
this heatwave we had most of the last 2 to 3 weeks.as power
consumption help record highs several days.

Yes, deffinately weird weather. Thunderstorms a month ago had lightning flashes about every 10 seconds lasted for about 1 hour, I've never seen that in real life before.

Plants don't seem too happy either.

Slugs seem VERY happy(very humid i expect and lack of predators)and they are eating my potatos

Don't know, I remember year 2000 was very stormy as well.

I don't recall 2000, I've seen lots of storms, but was just the frequency of the lighting that got me, Incredible.

280 ltr water butt went from empty to overflowing in less than 1/2 hour.

I'm quite willing to accept that its imagination, but the more people talk about weird weather, the more sure I feel that it is changing year on year.

Weren't we supposed to be having a heat wave btw?

This year in Brisbane, we had a very late season hail storm that dumped so much ice on the city that it looked like deep snow and in many areas it was still piled up the next morning. Some people had to shovel it off their driveways to get to work! Also we seem to have missed winter. Apart from a few chillier nights and mornings, this winter has been exceptionally mild. I've been able to wander around quite comfortably in teeshirts most days.

Are there any specific reasons being given for this? Is this set for a record?
