With all due respect, in my opinion anyway, Doh *and* you are both a bit wrong.
He's a bit hard on the police, in his opinions, but it's well intentioned (but he is a far leftist, whether he realizes that or not).
And you Cog are someone that's definitely very conservative, which isn't the center either, whether you admit that or not.
You're a bit too much in line with total NRA positions -- but it's well intentioned, I know that, but both of you guys are like someone that's clinging to ideology while a boat sinks and you can't just drop the ideology and start rowing.
BOTH partisan sides are actually making the situation worse!
What happened in Baton Rouge? TWO things, that are the fault of both political extremes.
(a) Black folks ought to understand that guess what, white people are nervous too when we get pulled over! Everybody is. NOBODY likes getting pulled over. But EVERYBODY has to conduct themselves appropriately. That's just civilized society, and that is how it is.
(b) The other thing that happened, is that it's yet another case of semi auto assault rifle violence, and R's won't ban them. And reduce magazine sizes. Or if not ban them, start requiring a license or a course or SOMETHING, but start doing some things. Mental health funding, etc. Take a look at the poverty problem in the South, etc.
Look at where all these problems are lately, folks, wake up -- IT'S IN THE SOUTH.
Where there is -- the most poverty.
And -- the loosest gun laws, including legal semi autos and open carry, and large magazine sizes.
Bottom line about it -- Louisiana is one of the top crime states. It's also one of the poorest states. And it's open carry and total pro NRA laws, on top of that. They are clearly doing something wrong there, and their government ought to start rowing somewhere in a better direction.
