Any RSS feeds or alerts to Market price of Oil?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and basically I didn't know where else this question would be appropriate but I'd like to know if there are any rss feeds or alerts for end of day price per barrel of oil? I manage a few gas stations in a state and I'd like to be aware of how the market is doing or how the market closed. Is it possible to get updates to my cellphone?
Thanks in advance.

I'd also be very interested in a RSS feed or something of the sort showing me the current price of crude, similar to the 321energy.com graph.

Hmmm, a bit of Googling came up with this:

http://www.ameinfo.com/rss/

Could be a little too info heavy, but looks like they post crude prices regularly, and the other posts look interesting and relevant too. The Energy Oil & Gas feed is at: http://www.ameinfo.com/rssfeeds/1974.xml

Also found an RSS for Yahoo commodities:

http://finance.yahoo.com/rss/commodities

Which looks even more general.

A feed with just crude prices would be best though, haven't found one yet.

I wonder why no one came up with this idea yet.
Anyway the RSS feeds are good but my main issue was that I am not in the office most of the time and thus it be convenient if alerts go straight to my cellphone. Anyone know if text messaging alerts are possible?

BTW, Bloomberg news is very convenient to check crude oil stats and things like that but again it requires me to actually be on the PC.

I wrote a program that can get the latest prices from yahoo.com

I think it's setup pretty nice, but where can I upload it?

It doesn't stream the prices though I could set it up that way but it would be delayed as Yahoo is, plus it would be a drag on system resources. Instead there's a get data button that you can click to refresh.

Well, you can use this site http://beta.yousendit.com/ to host your file and people can download it.

My question is, what makes your program different then an RSS feed? Can you make it send a text to a phone? (sorry for asking again).

Sorry didn't see the phone question.

But no, all this is is a quicker way to get the latest price on your PC so that you don't have to refresh an entire web page with the graphics and ads.

Hey, I sent you a PM regarding your program. Just in case you didn't get it, are you making this program publically available?

I looked at yousendit.com but it looks like a program to send it as an attachment in email through their servers? I have seen a public file posting place before. It would store your file for about 7 days. It was really handy. I just can't remember the name of it.

But anyone who wants the program let me know your email address through PM or here on the board and I'll e-mail it to you.

One snag right now is it doesn't get the nearest contract on its own. For instance, in the screenshot it shows CLM06 typed in. That comes up by default but once that contract expires and trading stops, you will have to type in the newest symbol in manually until I fix it.

If you know the symbols for gasoline or heating oil you can also get the prices with this program.

It's a very useful program, atleast for me.
Would it be possible to save the last symbol used (like in an ini file or something)? This way I can load the app at startup on different PC's, and for employees that are not too technical, they can just watch the program start and monitor the symbol's progress. I hope I'm not asking too much, but it's an idea. Anyway i'll PM you for the app now.

Thanks.

Works now thanks,

do you block ips or use other methods to prevent your feed from being included on other sites?

THE RSS Forum Feed Thread (merged)

To whom it may concern:

I'd like to be able to add a forum RSS feed to the new bot I have running in #peakoil on EFNet. The news feed for the main page works fine, but it seems there is something wrong with the forums RSS. Is this due to a plugin needed to make phbb compatible with RSS not working properly? Some other issue? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Google's RSS Reader sees it fine.

Okay, I'll plead ignorance on this. I click the RSS feed for the forums at the bottom of the page, and I get nothing. The news feed gives me a nice XML page. Here's a couple of pics. I don't think it's operator error since I have gotten other feeds to work using the same tcl script. Any ideas? Am I just not understanding something?

RSS feed for the forums has been frozen for a few weeks now - is this intentional?

One of the inventors of RSS has died, Aaron Swartz:

I just found out what RSS is today. Is this available on peakoil.com? (I don't see an Orange RSS icon anywhere?)
