New Look and Feel

Hi chaps. I assume it's still a work in progress, but I have two points.

1) The Active Topics list only has a few topics in it and is evidently not bringing back all the relevant topics.

2) Blue background to forums. Can you make it white again? It looks less like I'm wasting my time on dodgy websites at work that way. :-D

3) You can't currently report spam (report.php is missing)

OK, that's three! Keep up the good work.

I just saw the new look, I have used that style before on other boards. I really don't like it. Please leave the board the way it is/was, it works much better that way.

You can please all of the people some of the time.
You can please some people all of the time.
But you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

I roll with what life throws me. It makes no difference to me I'm not here for the window dressing.

I don't care for it either.

If you have a wide monitor, it only uses a tiny strip in the middle. The old version filled up the space, which worked much better.

On a high-res screen, the type is tiny, but if you increase the size, it cuts off parts of the titles, etc.

The old version was a lot more accessible to people with different screen sizes, font sizes, etc.

I concur. Old format made better use of my screen.

Wow. I am trying too hard to suck this bad.
But srsly, this new software more secure, won't crash, and will eventually be faster...

The upgrade is still in process, and it will be getting better over the next week (month).
Does anyone else want full screen-width again?

Today's the first day I've seen the 'new look'.

Smilies are back:   8O  8)

And the screen isn't 'collapsing' on me. ;}

I like it. It seems to be a wide screen now, and with a white background.

It seems a little clearer.

I think the width of the actual forum posts is very fine. It's narrower than before and it's actually easier to read the individual posts.

Regarding the total with of the page - it is narrow, especially on a wide screen (which I don't have), so if the links and other stuff on the side of the actual forum is made wider it wouldn't bother me. Maybe it could be inserted some stuff on the right side also?

At least I can get on...without blank pages. That's an improvement. Also I think the home page looks nicer.

I use an old (2003) computer with a CRT monitor and I have a 2 inch blank strip on each side. This makes the font much smaller on my screen and harder for me to read so I would like it widened back out to fit.

I am using a new computer with a 2000-pixel wide monitor, and I have 6" blank strips on each side. Same problem - makes the font too small for comfort, and if I make it larger, it screws up the formatting.

I'm using Firefox. The blank space is a little smaller in IE, but still a whole lot of wasted space.

I know forcing everyone to 800 pixels or so used to be considered good web design, but now, with people using everything from tiny little netbooks to 3000 pixel widescreens...the page should fill the screen, IMO.

Some sites have it as a user option - you can choose wide vs. narrow.

Good job Admins! Looks nice. Dig the maroon banner, and the narrow window doesn't compete with real work, at work.

I don't like the nearly full page of white space (except for the ads at the left side) at the top of every page.
I bet a lot of people think the page is still loading up, and wait unneccessarily until they decide to page down. I know I did.
But everything else is good.

The CTRL ++ trick you told us about took care of that particular issue beautifully, thanx Aaron.

Question, will be be getting back the What this Topic button? I really liked it, it was very convenient for us lazy folks, now that the board is sending me updates on threads again.
