There's not much us mods can do about it. I can't spend all morning pressing F5 on here. I think Admin made quite a few modifications to the base software so an upgrade to something more robust would not be a simple matter. But I agree it's getting intolerable.

It is visibly killing the site. On days when the place is spammed up, almost nobody bothers posting anything. Readership must be plummeting also. I can't understand how or why this is allowed to continue.

How about only allowing new posters (spammers) to post in the open thread only for the first week? This temporarily sacrifices only a part of the forum. But is the forum software flexible enough?

How hard is it to stagger posting rights? 'Your post is awaiting moderation' is fairly common these days.

Something has to be done, I'm having to think twice before opening posts!

Apparently, impossible. Welcome to message boards, circa 1998.

Even the anti spam thread is getting spammed. The site is unusable at this point. Guess I'll check back later.... Good Luck.

We have been spam free now for a couple of weeks +. It's a real pleasure to read the board again. Kudos to the spamkillers!!
