Had a discussion the other day with a non-PO person who thought oil was just puddles underground under pressure and had never heard of terms like water-cut etc.

Does anyone have a good link on the geological formations involved i.e. non-porous caps over porous rock and secondary and tertiary recovery techniques like water and gas injection including problems like over-production reducing the total amount of oil recovered.
