Of course, it wouldn't be possible now to invade Nigeria because the USA is over-commited in Iraq and Afghanistan. But would it have been easier for the Shrubbies to invade Nigeria rather than Iraq? Your thoughts please, on this alternative history.
Two things popped to mind, 1) After the disaster in Somalia it was not likely the USA was going to go back to Africa without a lot of public support and 2) Nigeria has been a very good ally to the UK and USA for many years, invading them would damage our international standing in ways that are unimaginable.
