... don't know squat about traffic splitters, but me'thinks since we 'diversified' our database access, this has been more common. Multiple refreshes and 'show picture' commands seem to do the trick.

Lots of repetition seems to 'fix' the problem; not an optimal solution tho.

Related functions in forum management behave similarly, so we conspireth not -- all share in the spoils of technology like this.

It is but a phase. This too shall pass....

Well, this phase hasn't passed yet. I uploaded an avatar (95x60, 3kb) and it seems to me that it is not working...

Request to change avatar size

Unread postby CARVER » Wed 25 Jan 2006, 19:16:37

Could someone upgrade the width of the avatars? Currently the allowed size is within 97 x 97 pixels, but you could change that to 145 x 97 (width x height) without it messing up the layout, because the width of the column that contains the avatar is always a bit wider than 145 pixels. I would appreciate it if someone would change that if it is possible to change it.

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

That was fast, however they seem to be mixed up:
its width can be no greater than 97 pixels, the height no greater than 145 pixels

I meant the width to be 145 pixels and the height to be 97 pixels. Could you maybe fix that again, thanks.

You are very generous, thanks. But maybe you were more generous than you meant to be:
and the file size no more than 977 KB.

Was that intended? (If so I could upload the animated version which is 95 KB)

I will stop harassing you now :-D

Thanks again

Hi I'm trying to upload a new avatar, but I'm getting this error message:
'The avatar image file size must be less than 0 KB'

?? The image is 145x90, and 5k- this happens on both firefox and IE for me. Thanks

The avatar image file size must be less than 0 KB'

That means they don't host custom avatars here. You must upload your avatar somewhere else, and link to it.

Your ISP probably offers Web hosting space as part of your account. Or you can use free image hosting sites, like ImageShack or OurMedia.org.

I'm not so sure about this. I also couldn't upload my Avatar for the same reason, so I tried to connect to my website, and the system couldn't find it. Can anybody help?

likewise. I can't find a suitable avatar that is less than the 99 bytes allowed.
Maybe you meant to set it at 99k?
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
