Russian translation for oil business

Unread postby AskMaxim » Thu 20 Nov 2008, 18:16:12

HI!

Let me introduce myself: I am "that guy".
Let me explain.

When you deal with Russian oilmen, you call your friendly local Houston major translation company and dump docs and bucks on them.

This your major calls a bunch of soho translators in Brooklyn, NY.

Depending on the personal preferences, some of them may try Poland or Slovakia as their Russian service provider. Unfortunately, most Polish and Slovaks understand English better than Russian. On the other hand, they are good at the dirty job of reaching to Russia, so they call me and slip docs and rubles under my door.

The buck finally stops HERE (or the ruble, better to say).

But still with my business discipline I am well and happy.

What else can I say, buy from the factory!

By the way, for those sporting the 'cost of living' argument:
Gas prices in Moscow did NOT drop a penny since the 08.2008 turmoil started, and run 2:1 to US. Your cars cost 2:1 here to your home, and jeans are 4:1, crap being sold at USD200.

Yet, our translations are priced about 1/2 - 1/3 of your retail cost.

How are things now in Moscow?
Alfred Tennyson wrote:We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
