Sorry about the avatar thing... workin...
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Does this effect the inline images as well or did I post something incorrectly?

Thanks,

Avatars disappeared

Unread postby bodigami » Wed 11 Jun 2008, 18:07:13

I can not see avatars in Firefox and Safari on Mac OS X, with latest versions of all software.

...is this to save bandwidth?!

it looks like the file with all the links to the various avatars is missing, corrupted or something. I'm not sure if we can get it back the way it was, but try to upload/link a new avatar :)

sorry for the inconvenience.

edit: looks like uploading/linking to a new avatar doesn't work.

Would be good to have the avatars back. They're part of the colorful character of the forum, with some of the colorful characters we have here :lol:

Make them static, not animated.

Few things in the online world are quite as annoying as trying to read while your peripheral vision is distracted by some idiotic decoration that buzzes around like a damn fly.

so it was a general problem... some patience then, but I also like it with no avatars... it loads basically instantly, even while dowloading torrents.

I agree... but it's not animated.

those doomers predicting we had reached peak avatar were wrong!

[smilie=clock.gif]

after a brief adjustment, we now have plenty of avatar and we will continue avatar production!

jumbo-avatars up to 9900 bytes now available!
