THE " Log In " Problem Thread (merged)

Unread postby aswerfawf » Tue 15 Nov 2005, 12:38:02

when i log in i have to type in my username and password several times, as much as 4, usually twice. often times the first attempt does not involve the random number generator, but sometimes i have to type in multiple random numbers because of multiple attempts to log in.

something is broken.

on another note... whats the deal with the random number generator for loging in any way? i understand that it is used when registering for various things on the internet as a measure against bots, but why do i have to go through this every time i log in after having registered? thanks.

Our apologies... working on it.

Lost password

Unread postby Guest » Sun 26 Feb 2006, 07:47:49

Hi,

I've lost my password, and the recovery page doesn't work.

I can get my confirmation code - but when I enter the confirmation code I get the message 'password mailed' but it never arrives.

Am I logged in or not?

Unread postby Heineken » Fri 24 Nov 2006, 21:53:28

How come when I'm in forums PO.com says I'm logged in, but when I go to the home page it says I'm logged out and won't let me, e.g., respond to the poll without logging in again?

Are some members who are logged in thus not being represented in the counter on the home page? I think I'm one who isn't.

Security Code for Log-In?

Unread postby WildRose » Tue 04 Mar 2008, 12:36:07

Over the last couple of days I've had to type in a security code every time I log-in to the forums. Is this the new procedure? My apologies if this has already been addressed.

I think it's an anti-spam measure. I've noticed there's a lot less spam the past couple of days.

Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

I think it was a good idea.
