Well, it's not like none of the old threads lack interesting information, historical perspective, etc. And it's not like conversations on some old threads never resume as current events make old events topical again.

So I'll just disagree with your opinion on that. I think given the resources they have, that the mods and folks who maintain the databases do a credible job on this site. And the world is imperfect, and there are MANY perspectives on almost any subject of any complexity, or where rapid change is occurring.

You just got here. Respectfully, give it a little time.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

I don't mind talking to dead people. The context of the site is meant to go well beyond any one slice in time. It would be better it it was easier to search for things. The categories are so related to peak oil or otherwise miscellaneous, that it is hard to even know what this site has to offer unless you stumble upon it.

I think it has evolved into discussing Resource Depletion with PO being a subset of that genre. Even CC can be viewed as a resource depletion problem; the resource is the climates ability to function as a sink for our excess carbon and other pollutants.

And then there are the political topics, which infect every forum I visit.
