Stock Market Crash! (merged) Pt. 9

Unread postby rockdoc123 » Fri 09 Aug 2019, 16:44:49

The FED's quarter point cut, tanked the market, and drove the dollar up. This has nothing to do with the trade war; that is an effect, not a cause.

yeah, right....that's why every business analyst out there has been saying it is all about the trade war....here is a few headlines:

Stock markets drop on new Trump China tariffs – August 2nd

Global stocks plunge on US-China trade war worries - August 2nd

Stocks fall on trade war fears, sending the S&P 500 to its worst week of 2019 - August 2nd

Morgan Stanley: If the trade war escalates, a recession will be here in 9 months - August 5th

Stocks fall on renewed trade war fears as Wall Street concludes volatile week – August 6th

and those same financial analysts's are saying the Fed is signalling it will help offset problems caused by the ongoing tariff war.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/02/feds-rate-cutting-helps-provide-cover-for-trump-to-wage-the-trade-war.html

Fed’s rate cutting helps provide cover for Trump to wage the trade war

“After [Wednesday’s] FOMC meeting there is little doubt increased trade uncertainties imply more/faster rate cuts,” Hans Mikkelsen, credit strategist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, said in a note to clients. “In fact [Thursday’] trade uncertainties more than offset the hawkish tilt at yesterday’s FOMC meeting in terms of Fed expectations.”

The market was disappointed following the Fed decision after Chairman Jerome Powell said the cut was not likely to be part of a longer loosening cycle. Traders took the tone as hawkish, and markets sold off sharply.

Stocks bounced back Thursday and were on their way to solid gains until Trump announced his intentions to levy another round of tariffs against China.

Mikkelsen said not only the Fed but also the European Central Bank will be there to support the economy as the trade war cranks up. Fed officials have cited the trade tensions as a headwind for growth.

Economy started tanking before the trade war started. I even said they’d blame the trade war on this coming crises. Right on cue

California home builders are pulling back, deflating hopes for housing relief

Home builders are pulling back from new construction, the opposite of what economists say is needed to ease California’s housing affordability crisis.

In the first six months of 2019, builders gained approval for 51,178 new homes in California, nearly 20% fewer than the same period a year earlier. That puts the state on track for the first meaningful annual decline since the recession.

In the Los Angeles-Orange County metro area, total permits — an indication of future construction — fell by 25%, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Single-family permits dropped 18.5% in the region, while those for multifamily projects such as apartment buildings -- a category in which activity tends to be more volatile -- fell 28.6%.

Of course they are; if they admitted that it was the debt that was strangling the world's economy they would have to come up with some reason why the debt is exploding. Wall Street would then have to explain why it is still the great promoter of junk bonds, and worthless equities. Their sales pitch is: here is a piece of paper that can be bought for $1 billion which will never return a nickel unless some other complete idiot buys it from you, and we are only going to charge you 10% upfront. It worked with shale so well that we now have a huge industry that has never turned a profit, or had a positive cash flow.

The fact that it is energy (as Newton attempted to explained 250 years ago) that makes things move will never be allowed to enter their minds. The real reason, as they claim, is that It is $175 billion in tariffs in a $20 trillion economy (0.0088%) that is crushing it. The Pentagon spends more than that on pencils and paper clips. But if they can sell the idea that the Presidentt is a racists, commy, Russian spy, sex maniac, to the cluelesss wombats, selling tariffs as the reason for all our economic problems will be a walk in the park.

Wall Street's next great technological, got to have because it generates negative Gamma, IPO push will be Fairy Dust, and Unicorn Farts. It will sell because it's got "momentum".

The world is dying of "energy starvation", but Wall Street has convinced itself, and most everyone else that it is all about magical elves with a printing press. What could go wrong? Monkey brain is an insult to monkeys, humans didn't climb down out of the trees; they fell out!

Another example of thousands of examples of Bozo Bedford (formerly ETP Bozo) failing grade 3 arithmetic. A mistake of two orders of magnitude.

THE PONZI "SYSTEM" IS COLLAPSING

McMerica

Money = What the computer says

Transportation = EV Scooter
Education = Perfect Marks in Ponzi scams
Health Care = Psycho Pills

All FRAUD.

I told the Hottie PharmaChick at the Joke Drug Store:

"Baby, you're doomed. Very soon, AI and Robotics will clunk you over the head and when you wake up, you'll transition into a beautfiul new career of $2 Street Ho doing 50 Trix-a-day." Then she picks up the phone and calls security because she can't handle the truth.

Chickenshit Cog, where is the war? XOM hitting new lows, EOG hitting new lows, BA failing badly....all tankage. The Housing Stock in Scamerica is Totally Worthless.

[Crickets]

Cog, I just got your draft notice in the mail. You're supposed to report to minesweeping department where you will be blown into a 1000 pieces.

Scamerica is now in The John Lennon Economy, Nothing is Real (until the exploding bullets hit the back)

Lennon: "i'll just ignore those music contracts I signed and go to resterants instead. nothing is real. oops exploding bullets have hit me in the back on the way into the resteraunt, that sure does feel real, I guess they were serious about those contracts, bye now"....

New Gold Backed Currency Retards: Got a message for ya.

Solar/Shale "Oil"/Windmills are all worthless paper. It can't fund anything. Deutsche Used Toilet Paper Bank is The WindMill Bank and the stock is tanking again.

Buzz Aldrin T-shirt in 2019: "Get yer ass to Mars"
Buzz Aldrin T-shirt in 2022: "Get yer ass outta Skid Row"
Buzz Aldrin T-shirt in 2025: "What the fuck happened to the power? Its off"

The ICE vs EV debate is absurd.

Scamerica won't be able to afford anything but the frame of a vehicle by 2023. The "debt" is disguised money printing.

By 2025, on demand power will be a lost cause.

The "Economy" from 2025-2030 will be: Eliminate Human Consciousness

You can't save 5000 Cities. They are all going to be burned to the ground.

What the hell is wrong with The Ford Motor Company. When I told the local dealership this is what I wanted powered by water, they told me I'm nuts. I said by 2023 its Mad Max 2. This is a MM2 vehicle. Instead they got bunch of graphic artists queers designing retarded new grill and headlamp designs.

Cog, where are the Flying Saucers from The Deep-State Physicists that don't require a propellant? Don't exist. Physics, nothing but a Mafia. Tesla Motors, nothing but a mafia. Thats all Bankrupt Scamerica is, Mafia.

No wonder their stock is tanking again.

This has got to be the 2023 Ford F-150:

Do you ever say anything meaningful, or just rant like a street person?

If you DID behave like that (I think you're just lying as usual), and you're surprised an employee would call security, your IQ is even lower than I thought. Problem noticing simple patterns? Crows can do that, by the way.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

I think we just watched Starving Lion have a doomer meltdown. LOL

Those of us who have invested long term in the market are doing fine, downturns and bull markets, it all results in long term profits. Stay the course and keep investing has worked for us for long term investors very well. Its sad when people don't understand simple concepts.

As long as the dividends are paid quarterly or monthly and the companies who pay them are profitable, we simply don't care about stock price downturns. We just collect our money and either DRIP the money back into stocks or pay our monthly bills with them. Day traders are the people who worry about such things not long term investors.

Take a look at the global passengers who traveled by commercial air annually, re the trend.

Hint: that number has nearly doubled in the last decade, per the World Bank.

Then go ahead and explain how the jet engine is "dead", given that despite all the empty claims by the peakers, as global economic activity trends upward, so does total oil production, over time.

Oh, and since you're so confused over time metrics -- over time means over a period of decades, not 5 weeks or 5 months...

Based on what? Real world data from banks or outfits like Zillow? I don't think so.

From the voices in your head? OK, but given your track record, that's JUST as credible an opinion as the rantings of the ETP Bozo, or armageddon.

(Hint: Being wrong consistently year after year after year isn't credible, in the real world.)

Of course, given the frequency of calling ANY dip in ANY indicator, a "crash" by certain doomers around here, the term loses most of its meaning, re the context of this discussion.

And of course, when we DO have a recession (whether in 6 months or 6 years) the doomers will claim they were right all along, ignoring the context of their earlier claims, especially timing.

And of course, when it's not "the big one", but just anything in the range of a normal recession, once the recovery arrives, they'll deny it, claim we're in a "depression" (without defining that, or using imaginary data from the voices in their heads), etc.

If only track records and past behavior didn't matter, but alas, the internet is searchable, objective data exists, trends exist, etc.

But sure, if not giving up on being wrong is to be commended, they've earned that -- just like broken clocks in general.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

This is a continuation of the 2008 crash. They gave the old man viagra to keep his boner up for a decade, now it has wore off. They only have 2% points of viagra pills this time to try to fight this one. The old man has a entire room full of hookers and only 2 pills left.

Nice deal for your spouse, braggadocio. Her trustee (she must be as dumb as you to need a trustee) only had $450K in the Vanguard 500 account in 2008 to push it to $2000K today. Where is that outhouse in Manhattan where you stacked your $50 silver from the Nelson Bunker Hunt days 40 years ago? That outhouse would be quite valuable today. ROTFLMFAO.

This is a continuation of the 2008 crash.

A crash means a rapid drop in stock prices, which happened on September 29th 2018 when the Dow fell 777.68 points. Since then the Dow has steadily risen from 7062 at market bottom in February of 2019 to 26,287.44 currently or about 3.7 times higher.

That is by definition not a crash….the stock prices are rising. The "crash" ended in early 2019.

I suggest you stick with physical gold investments as it is very clear you have zero understanding of the stock market.

"Crash" is such an abused term here that it no longer has any meaning.

HALL OF SHAME:

-Frequent-flyers should not cry crocodile-tears over climate-change.
