He has been featured or quoted in a number of publications such as Mother Jones, New York Times, Washington Post, and Science Alert. Few scientists will publicly tell you how dire things are, but Nick Humphrey is not one to shy away from the truth. I live in central Alaska and I enjoyed reading Nick Humphrey's comments on his blog about on our ongoing extreme Arctic heatwave. Heat records are falling all over Alaska. The snow is mostly gone...six weeks early.

Next to go is the Arctic Sea ice.

Our life support system is propped up by ice that is now melting. The polar bear will be a good indicator species.

Our society has a problem with getting rid of waste currently. At some point, our society will be it's own waste product, to be flushed down nature's toilet of discarded life forms and the meme of our civilization will disappear that way.

Until then, full speed ahead, though.
