Okay so I thought about it and two hemispheres is actually a better solution as it would naturally focus the energy onto the next stage whilst using less fuel.

I do not beleive a net energy magnetic confinement fusion device is possible at all.

The D-D or D-T reaction does not behave like the slow burning H-H reaction in the sun.

if the density of D-T or D-D is sufficent to release net energy it will always cause an explosion.

ITER nuclear fusion project avoids delays as U.S. doubles bu

The United States has agreed to double its planned 2018 budget contribution to the ITER project to build a prototype nuclear fusion reactor, avoiding delays to the international project this year, its director said on Monday. REUTERS/Jean-Paul Pelissier Washington cut the United States’ 2017 contribution from a scheduled $105 million to $50 million and had planned to cut its 2018 contribution from a scheduled $120 million to $63 million. But in last-minute talks about the U.S. 2018 budget last week, the U.S. Congress approved a draft Omnibus Spending Bill with a $122 million in-kind contribution for ITER, which President Donald Trump signed into law on Friday, ITER said. “This is a very positive signal ... it will prevent ITER having

Adam is so desperate rescuing old threads that he posts the ITER fusion article in a thread about Fission-Fusion Design.

Hey Adam, guess what, ITER is NOT a Fission-Fusion Design.

Starving Lion, this one is right up your alley.

The only fission-fusion design I know of is an atomic bomb. The energy released by the fission reaction ignites the fusion reaction which ignites everything for 20 miles around. Basically a small Sun.

Not what I want in my backyard :)
A Solar fuel spill is otherwise known as a sunny day!
The energy density of a tank of FF's doesn't matter if it's empty.
I will see your google and raise you an infinity!
