Lets be fair now. ISIS really isn't much different then the prior Islamic Caliphates that ruled Syria for 1200 years, including the Ottoman Caliphate that existed into the 20th century.

The current non-Islamic regime in Syria has existed for a just a short blip of time, and was basically forced on Syria by colonial western powers in the early 20th century after the collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate. But prior to that Islamic Caliphates were the norm in Syria.

Cheers!

Maybe they were, but this ISIS one is an extreme implementation of such a system. In the same way that fascism is an extreme version of an autocratic government.

ISIS isn't much different then prior Caliphates and in some ways is less horrible and less threatening then the old Caliphates because it was never very powerful.

Prior Caliphates commonly attempted to terrorize people just like ISIS-----the Ottoman Caliphate, for instance, used impalement as a punishment for captured enemy soldiers----something even ISIS didn't attempt. The Ottomans also used to cut off the noses and ears and lips of enemies and skin people alive--- things that are too horrible even for ISIS. And Ottomans were particularly famous for forcing their defeated enemies to build enormous "mountains of skulls" and huge towers of skulls with the decapitated heads of thousands of their leading citizens. In Hungary they cemented the skulls into a big wall---that still exists today, where its a tourist attraction. ISIS never carried out mass murders on this scale--- Imagine how terrifying it was for children to go to market each friday and see beloved old uncle Bob's head in the mountain of skulls, slowly decaying away over several years.

And speaking of children, the Ottoman caliphate forced subject people to give their own children to the Caliphate, where they were raised as mercenary soldiers known as Janissaries. Then, if anyone rebelled, the Caliph would send the Janissaries so people had to fight against their own kidnapped children.

Nope---ISIS isn't much different from prior Caliphates.

Cheers!

DAMASKUS TERRORISTS UNDER HEAVY SAA+RUS FIRE

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack inside the suburbs of east Damascus this morning, targeting Faylaq Al-Rahman’s positions at the Sonbol Station in ‘Ayn Tarma.

Led by the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to break-through Faylaq Al-Rahman’s front-lines at the Sonbol Station, resulting the latter’s subsequent retreat from the area.

Today’s attack by the Syrian Army’s 105th Brigade was carefully carried out, as they relied on heavy artillery and air support to break-though the enemy lines and capture the Sonbol Station inside ‘Ayn Tarma this morning....

TENSIONS BETWEEN ISIS AND LOCAL TRIBES GROW AS GOVERNMENT FORCES APPROACHING DEIR EZZOR
ISIS has seized all the funds and property of Al-Zawad Tribe in the city of Al Bukamal and its countryside in the province of Deir Ezzor, according to local sources.

ISIS has also arrested 17 members of Al-Zawad Tribe and accused the tribe of killing a number of ISIS fighters in the desert of Al Bukamal.

Clashes reportedly erupted in the vicinity of the city two days ago during which the tribe’s members killed a number of ISIS fighters. The reason behind tensions is still unknown.

The SAA now has the largest front with Daesh/ISIS in Syria and is doing most of the fighting with these terrorists. Some NATO propaganda sources are claiming that only the SDF is fighting Daesh.

All the blathering in the fake stream media by the parade of liar pundits about how Assad was supporting Daesh/ISIS seems to have faded away. Facts on the ground put this propaganda drivel into the toilet it deserved.

Unfortunately, the insane delusion that there is a difference between Daesh and the rest of the jihadis, including the white helmet "aid worker" posers still persists.

Could see that coming. Jihadis loss of face indescribable. Once gone, IS will continue to exist online & in enclaves around the world. But the failure of ISIL takes the shine off the lifestyle. Couldn't have wished any better for them.

Brigadier General Suheil ‘The Tiger’ al-Hassan, Commander of the Syrian Arab Army Tiger Forces, has received an award weapon from Head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, at the Hmeymim air base.

The Tiger Forces commander has also received a grateful letter from Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoygu.

Al-Hassan commanded an air landing operation and the liberation of El-Kder and the nearby area earlier this week.

“For the successful offensive along the Euphrates river, for participation in the liberation of the strategically important settlement Sukhna, as well as for command of the landing and the liberation of El-Kder, the Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu awards you for the courage,” the Russian Defense Ministry quoted Gerasimov in a statement.
On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army and its allies made large gains against ISIS terorirsts in the province of Homs and now are working to neutralize a large ISIS grouping in the area of Uqayrabat. This became possible due to the successful air landing operation in El-Kder and the liberation of Sukhna.
