You are right. Many so-called "scientific" news publications spew out pseudoscientific nonsense mainly because the writers are funded by big corporations that don't want the masses to understand and realize that the collapse of industrial civilization is inevitable.

These so-called high priests of science, aka "scientists", are trying to fool the masses (the general public) into believing that their unsustainable, luxurious industrial life styles of mass consumerism can be sustained on alternative energies like photovoltaic/wind energy, nuclear fusion, zero-point energy and biofuels, when in fact no combination of alternative energies to fossil fuels can sustain the modern industrial life style of these pampered and spoiled life styles.

Plus, mainstream media tries to hide or ignore the global climate change problem caused by the ubiquitous usage of fossil fuels around the world.

Publications like "Nature" and "Science" just expouse the mainstream media's propoganda in order to keep business as usual going. That is...they want the general public to keep on mindlessly consuming useless products and services to maximize profits for big corporations.

Yes, part of why I am here is to continuously reiterate the full extent of the grimness of our predicament not because I like too , goodness I wish all this was not so, but because it is the reality and will be the reality. While we here may disagree on some of the particulars and details we still are more closely aligned with each other than the masses who intentionally or because of the front of lies and deceit are clueless and oblivious to the Great Change coming. Take the attitude of this life is short anyway, so just realize that you can only control what you can, no more than that. So that is what to strive for Desu, find your peace and acceptance of anything and everything. I am 54 and am grateful for the miracle of existing. It is probably already too late to prevent civilization from collapsing. Besides, it was always too late to save industrial civilization because IC is not sustainable. Industrial civilization isn't worth saving because it can't be saved, as it is unsustainable. The best we can do is make sure there are at least some survivors that can live off the remains of whatever modern civilization has left behind.

I do believe that because almost everything these days is stored digitially via electronic devices, our culture's remnants will become more ephermal. Contrary to popular belief, electronic data is very ephermal. In other words, it doesn't have very much lasting value or lacks in the ability to be preserved for long periods of time. Once industrial civilization falls apart, the electricity grid starts to turn off, rare earth minerals (necessary for the manufacture of electronic devices) become too scarce to extract and use for making electronic devices, what's the point of having virtually all of our culture stored in electronic devices if you can't even access it in the future when such devices become history? Digitial devices allow vast amounts of data to be stored, but due to its ephermal nature, data stored digitally is easily lost. Especially when there is no way to manufacture anymore digital devices in the future for accessing our culture, which has mostly become digitized or stored in digital devices. Much of the 20th century and beyond will become a gaping historical black hole (because of all of the digital data we will lose), except for the remnants of the plastics, radioactivity and soot we leave in the fossil record.
