I would have some serious reservations concerning Petraeus having any role in the Trump administration. A guy who would provide his girlfriend access to classified materials, that even as a reserve officer, she is not cleared for, is to me a disqualifier on any future government job. Both Hillary and Petraeus should have done time over this. A lessor ranked or less well known person would still be cooling their heels in federal prison.

Trump builds the wall, and Mexico pays for it via tariffs. For those that think the wall is impossible, may I point out I-10, I-20, I-40, I-5, etc. Compared to those, a friggin wall is easy.

Does the wall/fence building contract go out to tender?
Mexicans would be able to win the tender with cheaper labour

A federal project built on USA soil would have to have all legal green card or citizen labor. It probably would have Davis Bacon minimum rates that all contractors would have to pay so, no, the Mexicans would have no advantage.

What if?
There's a lot of "what ifs" in play over the next few months/years.
I've given up on speculations. Reality is nuts enough.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

I predict Palin will see Russia from her bedroom. Good to know she'll be keeping an eye out.

I'd be watching Alex Jones, to see what sort of Bogey Man he manufactures now that his boy has gotten in. Europe looks like it'll be in a post-Brexit recession, possibly of inflationary proportions. He might not gain much traction picking on his favorite old world targets, if they are down and we are up. Likewise, the rich over here are already starting to become important to his boy. If he wants to keep momentum going he may have to segue over to vilifying Putin. After all, Putin probably doesn't like fracking any more than the Saudis.

Jones has never been an arch liberal hater. He's more of an implied one. Mostly he'd rather go after Bogey Men. He could become much more of one, but then he'd have to set that up with a more direct back story. It'd take a while and he'd have to move fast to keep his audience. Trump has always gotten along with liberals as well. It's the people who now have power in Trump's party who the liberals will have to fear, especially those card carrying 'Christians.'

Domestically, I think it'll take a little while for the hard core right to come up with an enemy. After they sort out the easy targets within their own party who don't back the first 100 day plan they'll have to group speak for a bit to come up with enough talking points to pass around and regurgitate on talk radio and right wing TV. It could be that the Supreme Court nomination Trump offers will galvanize the situation. They may find an easy target in their coterie of bad guys, say Planned Parenthood or some Muslim or radical black conspiracy. I wonder if they can manufacture anything on Nancy Pelosi or, maybe, a group of Democrats?

I say follow Alex Jones not because he's got real power, but because he's got his finger on what it takes to keep the mindset that has put Trump into power going. He's built it up this far by understanding and exciting people's fears. I don't think it's a stretch to say that his little fear circus is a big part of what put Trump where he is now. He knows how to tell people that tomorrow the world will end, and when it doesn't get them just as excited about the same story for the next day. If Trump runs into a wall with this job Jone's option may seem like a good one to take.

bold prediction 8 or 9 or...
Corporations in America will thrive on the new profit center of threatening to move jobs to Mexico in order to receive graft from the gov, million-ish of new jobs will be created specifically to be placed on the chopping block for rescue by taxpayers.

Its not the government's money to begin with. The left never seems to understand that point. That money was confiscated from individuals and corporations to begin with. Returning it to its rightful owners is not graft but justice.

Alex Jones has been saying since Trump won the election that the new world order shadow government will try to take him out to prevent him from becoming President.

Also saw this repugnant video about what Trump would do to the Mexicans, it made me sick, Trump is not the monster they make him out to be:

Yeah, and when that doesn't happen he'll have some other piece of hype ready to go about this or that threat. But it does play into Trump's assault upon the press during his victory rallies. The press being an imagined fore part of some organized counter to Trump's presidency rather than a lot of people whose job it is to discover the truth.

You lefties really need to figure out why no one wants your vision of the future. The MSM was always in the tank for the hard left and will continue to do so. But Trump proved we don't need the MSM anymore. Good riddance to hard left garbage.

That is funny. The MSM did nothing but run cover for Hillary for a solid year. Wouldn't discuss WikiLeaks at all and bad mouthed Trump 24/7. Is it any wonder that no one listens to them anymore?

So when did you stop listening? And that's not an accusation, veiled or otherwise. I'm wondering where the healing has to start? You can't get by without a free press. It's never been a mono-cast. There were always muckrakers and charlatans. There's going to be bias in almost every story. Reporters and editors, try as they may, cannot hide their class. It's not the job of the world not to have those things, but the job of the person to figure them out.
