I would add covert interventions as in CIA, economic hitmen, black ops, etc. Not always does the US show up on the radar screen but they are lurking behind the scenes influencing outcomes in countries.

As much as I know you guys love USA bashing this pattern of behavior is about as far from unique as you can get. Russia/USSR, UK, France, Japan... just about every country that has ever had a wide influence has done exactly the same type of behavior.

That is absolutely true Tanada. However, I think that like other empires, US has taken it to another level in the 20th and 21st century and it's allies have cooperated so you could say they are accessories to this pattern. Also, in each country in question certain groups and individuals have gladly gone along with US policy. Every country has a core group of wealthy and powerful elites and for the most part they are reprehensible so nobody gets a pass.

if coal is a drug , we are the world pusher
we are the Saudi Arabia of coal , as far as internal electrical energy production goes we are close to 100% coal

I saw something the other day about Saudi Arabia building a big new coal burning electric power station using imported coal. The idea being the less oil they burn for power the more they have for export.

So question, is Indonesia being invited back in so they can trade coal for oil instead of engaging in open trade selling coal and buying oil?
