IP address blocked?

Unread postby autonomous » Fri 22 May 2015, 13:19:51

A few days ago all access to peakoil.com was blocked from my ip address. I can still login to my account via anonymous web browsing. Here's the message received when accessing any page on the site:

Hi,

I've notified admin. It may be a cloudflare thing.
What we think, we become.

I get the "forbidden" message from time to time. I laid to the quirks of my internet hook up through the phone lines. It usually goes away in an hour or so.

vts - your IP is not blocked, I'm sorry to say it's a networking issue.

a little history - years ago peakoil.com got hacked repeatedly and got a ton of .gov and .mil traffic
a few years back, i put in place cloudflare's proxy and moved our server to locked-down bare-metal

today, you can ONLY access peakoil if your go through the cloudflare proxy
and non-cloudflare traffic gets : " 403 forbidden " messages.

people have problems with this setup since your DNS must resolve peakoil.com to cloudflare proxy.

Fixes to this issue:

1) reboot PC and or modem
2) use google's DNS servers 8.8.8.8
3) try a different computer or internet connection

when we move servers again, I will attempt to put in place a more permanent solution.

keep it going Dan!

and don't let any random paint stop you.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.
