Hey EMF,

There is a huge amount of material here, definitely spend some time in the different forums and see where you find the most useful information for your situation.

You will find there are those who believe we are in for a rough road in the near future due to climate, resource and financial issues (I'm one of these), and there are those who believe we will use technology and new projects to pull ourselves into a clean sustainable future (I want these guys to be right).

As long as you can ignore the verbal battles between those 2 groups you will find a lot of valuable information.

Anyhow, Welcome! :)

Welcome EMF ,
a good place to start is wikipedia , then dig around
this forum has a range of opinions

- Porn-doomers .........next month there will be brain eating zombies roaming
-dark greens ............and the sea will rise and the sea will boil
-light greens............ a windmill in each garden
-rational utopians ......ten thousand windmills in your garden
-crypto socialists .......capitalism is the disease, hang the bastards
-populist.................It's all the fault of the oil companies
-chartists ................look at this curve ! , it's all the way down now
-Kilowatts freaks........not much power , not much life
-cornucopians ...........there is plenty of the stuff, next generation problem maybe
-cynics ................... this is soooo bunk!

it's a rough sketch of course , and it's not either/or ,
any combination is indulged and change with the mood , season and news cycle

A pretty good site in a disfunctional way , all considered

Hi, what did you watch?
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

He watched this forum and decided to test a post to see if it got accepted.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

Hello everyone im Deltron3030,

I have recently discovered the PeakOil website and had a look at the information discussed, I have used several forums in the past however never know of one so centred around the evidently damaging consumption of oil,

my main interests lie with renewable energy and wind farming, i am just wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction of a discussion i may specifically fit in with.

thank you for reading and i look forward to hopefully hearing back from someone,

Welcome to Peak Oil, you would probably enjoy the Planning for the Future forum and maybe the Environment forum in particular, sustainability is a big topic.
