I like the old propaganda films from the American Petroleum Institute that when viewed in the modern context serve to show how dependant we are on oil for our modern lifestyle. There are clips from these movie used in "Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash" and "The End of Suburbia" which are two pretty good modern peak oil documentaries that are easy to watch and both on Netflix.

The best documentary I've seen has to be "There's No Tomorrow" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOMWzjrRiBg ).

"The End of Suburbia" ( http://www.endofsuburbia.com/ ) is also good, as is "A Crude Awakening" ( http://www.oilcrashmovie.com/ ).
